“The KHS Choir participated in the New Orleans Choir Festival this past weekend,”announced Director of Choirs, Matt Schenck, “and returned with the highest score of Gold: First Place in the Chamber Choir Division.”

The festival with a French Quarter setting offered the choir a chance to compete with others across the country and included an on-stage mini-clinic, judging by three professional adjudicators and a professional performance recording.

The trip gave the students an opportunity to see some of the sights of New Orleans, perform at the awards ceremony and dinner and have fun at a masquerade ball at Madi Gras World.

“Congratulate these wonderful students who dedicated many weeks of rehearsal to accomplish our goal to bring home the gold,” said Schenck.
