City Council Seat Open ? deadline to apply is June 4

According to the information posted on the City of

Kennedale website, the City Council will have a vacancy as of May 13, 2014. Any qualifying residents who wish to apply for Place 3 on the council will be given the opportunity to do so according to the following application and appointment process: {{more}}

• Online Applications will be available from May 1 – June 4
• Applications are due by 5:00PM on June 4
• City Council will conduct individual interviews on June 9 & 10
• The official selection and appointment will be made at the regular City Council meeting on June 12th at 7:00PM

Kennedale considers a qualifying resident as:

• a registered voter of the City; and
• resided in the City for one (1) year before the date of the election; and
• continue residency in the City during the term of office; and
• not holding more than one public elective office; and
• not holding an appointed office of the City excluding boards, committees, and commissions; and
• at least 21 years of age; and
• not having been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgment of a court; and
• not having been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities; and
• no candidate filing for more than one office or position number per election.
