However, there is no need to rush to file. The deadline is not until 5 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2020.

Three positions are up …?

Per the City Charter, there are five elected council positions along with the city mayor. Each position is for a two-year term. The positions are staggered so that there are three positions up for election each year.

This year, 2020, the three positions open for election are the mayor and council positions 2 and 4. Those are currently occupied by Mayor Brian Johnson, City Council Member Chris Pugh (Place 2) and City Member Linda Rhodes (Place 4). Both Pugh and Rhodes have filed for re-election.?

Filings will be accepted during normal business

hours (Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays)

and there is no filing fee. Candidate Packets are available in the City
