The City has once again earned a state recognition, this one presented with the 2012 Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle Program Award on November 12, 2012. The award recognizes local governments across Texas that continually striving to meet a high standard for financial transparency online. The idea is that you pay for your government, and you deserve to know how it spends your money.As stated on the city website ??The City of Kennedale makes financial transparency a priority, opting to make many records freely accessible, rather than leave the public waiting for information requests. As technology improves, we continually seek out ways to better achieve the following:
- Open our books to the public;
- Provide clear, consistent pictures of our spending; and
- Share our information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers easily drill down for further details.?
