Elections for City Council May 4, 2019?
My name is Cesar Guerra and I have decided to run for Kennedale City Council Place 3. I am a husband, a father, a step-father, a brother, an uncle, and a neighbor. I moved to Kennedale in 2014 after marrying the love of my life, Nadia. {{more: continue …}}She has been a resident of Kennedale since 2007 and always described Kennedale as a small town filled with big hearts.

When we started our lives as a married couple in Kennedale I immediately understood why she fell in love with this small town. It was safe, there were family friendly events held throughout the year, and the community was united.?
Shortly after moving here I applied for a position in the Keep Kennedale Beautiful Board because I felt I needed to make an ongoing contribution to the city I called home and it also allowed me to know my neighbors and meet other citizens of Kennedale. Joining the Keep Kennedale Beautiful Board has been a learning and fulfilling experience that allowed me to witness firsthand people working together to keep our community clean and beautiful.

Volunteering my time on this city board allowed me to observe changes taking place in City Hall. While I understand that not everyone is always happy with the decisions that are made in City Hall, I felt that there were too many negative changes that were affecting the quality of life in Kennedale. My decision to run for place 3 is based on my desire to live in a city that is united, harmonious, and to improve the quality of life not only for my family but for my neighbors and the citizens of Kennedale.

You may wonder, what makes me qualified to run for city council? And the answer is I have a Bachelor?s degree in Finance and currently I am taking the last two courses for my Masters in Business Administration. I have worked in the finance and cost control sector of international construction corporations for over 15 years where fiscal responsibility is a top priority. My time in the cost control sector has increased my awareness of the potential risks and rewards of a change. I know that the decisions I make will be educated, researched, and rational.

I have a grasp of the complexities that financial accounting has to offer and am willing to work hard to learn governmental accounting standards. I know that with my skills, knowledge, and experience I can evaluate Kennedale?s fiscals? policies and create a financial control that encourages resources being spent in a sensible manner.

Finally, I want to represent the needs of the citizens of Kennedale. We need a City Council that oversees the performance of city departments, to ensure that our essential city services are delivered efficiently and with excellence. I have the desire to do the hard work of thoughtful legislation for the benefit of the citizens. I intend to ask the tough questions to ensure that taxpayers are getting their money?s worth.?

My decision to run for City Council Place 3 is based on my concern for OUR small town. I want to show everyone that Kennedale is a small town with a big future.
