rate increase proposal tabled …Council also tabled for the second consecutive month, a proposal by Waste Connections for a rate increase in the trash and recycling collection for residential and commercial customer. Council members are saying they need more information before making a decision. Waste Connections says that under the contract with the City of Kennedale, the company is entitled to a rate adjustment increase. Waste Connections is asking for a 3% increase in garbage and 2% in recycling. They said the company has not asked for a rate increase since 2014.in other action …
The only person to speak to the Council during the scheduled public forum was Linda Graddy, who spoke for establishing a community theatre, whose productions could be presented on the outdoor stage at TownCenter Park.
Graddy was later presented a proclamations for her service to the school district and the community from Mayor Johnson.
The Council also approved the appointment of members to the 2017-18 Youth Advisory Council (YAC). This year?s slate was for the full membership of 15 students.
