Kennedale High School Senior, Austin Eggleston, All-District Co-Pitcher of the Year in 2014, has signed with Vernon College to play baseball with the Chaparrals. {{more}}
 
The 2014 Wildcats went 20-11-1, with a 2nd place district finish, a bi-district championship and a Area qualifier.

As a sophomore, Austin was 2nd Team All-District as pitcher on a team that finished at 18-8 and were District, Bi-district and Area Champs and a region semi-finalist qualifier.
 
This year, the Kennedale Wildcats have a THSB pre-season rank of #20 in Class 4A with Eggleston (.304, 7-4, 0.99) along with Jake Michener (.448, 21 RBI, 22 SB) as top players for the Wildcats.

Last year. Ausin threw a no-hitter against Fort Worth Diamond Hill Jarvis striking out 15 batters and walking none, He also had shutouts over Lake Worth,striking out 12 with just 1 hit, and Fort Worth Castleberry, striking out 8 with just 2 hits and one walk.

Vernon is a Division 1 Junior college. The Vernon Chaparralsl

compete in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference in Region 5 of the National Junior College Athletict Association. Some consider it to be one of the top regions in the country.

 
A player at a ? D1 juco? gains the

experience needed to be signed with a Division 1 university or to get drafted

into the majors.

Vernon

College, with campuses in Vernon and Wichita Falls, is a fully accredited, comprehensive

community college offering academic, career and technical education programs,

as well as community classes to prepare students for employment or for

successful transfer to a four-year college or university.
