Eight Lady Kats earn post season honors

The Kennedale Lady Kats basketball team scored well in post district honors with eight honorees along with a coach accolade. Kennedale finished this season with a 24-12, 9-1 record and a #22 MaxPreps 4A state rank. {{more:[Read more]}}
 

Three Lady Kats basketball players made the short list of superlative players of the year in District 7-4A. One was named to the 1st team, three were on the 2nd team and another honored with a special award. (mouse over the name to see photo)

{{t2:Evie Whorley: }} (Jr) was named as Co-MVP. {{t2:Lucy Benson: }} (Jr) earned Defensive Player of the Year. {{t2:Dajia Simmons: }} (Jr) won the 6th Man of the Year award. {{t2:Kylie Embry: <>}} (Jr) was honored with the Bobby Miller Character Award. Named to the first team was {{t2:Sydnee Biscoe: }} (So). Second teams honors went to {{t2:Payton Williams: }} (Jr), {{t2:Amanda Davis: }} (So) and {{t2:Taylor Austin: }} (Jr). Head Coach {{t2:Doug Watson:

}} shared Coach of the Year honors with Mark Chauveanx from Godley.

This is the second year for all-district recognition for Evie Whorley, Lucy Benson, Dajia Simmons, Amanda Davis and Coach Watson. All of the players should be returning next year for the District 7-4A Co-Champs.
