DUTIES: This role performs a wide variety of technical and clerical tasks in support of the municipal library programs, services and activities, including providing customer service, reference assistance, processing materials, interlibrary loans, cash handling and circulation of material. Provides customer service to patrons at the circulation desk, including processing materials, cash handling for overdue, lost or damaged materials, placing materials on hold, responds to requests for assistance with public computers or location of items, answers questions, provides reference assistance, provides overdue notice to patrons and addresses complaints. In addition, this role may also assist with opening and closing the library, making pavilion and city facility reservations, maintaining supplies and daily revenue reporting and library usage statistics.
 
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years? general clerical experience which involved providing service and/or information to the public as well as previous public or school library experience preferred. Successful applicants will be proficient in using basic computer software applications, ability to communicate orally and in writing, have basic math skills and ability to maintain positive effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public.
 
A drug screen and background check will be performed prior to employment.
 
Work hours include Tuesday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours are flexible.
