KHS Senior Leon Powell ran the fastest 200m in the nation last month at the Mansfield Legacy Bronco Relays.At the meet he had a time of 21.38 which broke the meet record and school record. At the same meet, Powell broke the meet record in the 100m with a time of 10.53 to earn another gold. Washington again placed second with a run of 10.82 which also broke the meet record.
Early this month he bested his 21:38 by posting a 21:09 at the Bob Albert Relays in Duncanville.
In February Powell signed to run track for the UCLA Bruins. His twin sister DeAndrea has signed with the San Jose State University track team. Read
