There are 3 open positions on the Kennedale City Council. All three incumbents have filed for re-election. Current council members {{t2:Liz Carrington: }} in Place 2, {{t2:Kelly Turner: }} in Place 4 and {{t2:Brian Johnson: }} for the office of Mayor have filed for re-election.
Two positions are open on the Kennedale School Board. Filing for re-election on the Board is {{t2:Stewart Richardson: }} in Place 5 and in Place 4 Janet Adams has announced that she is not running. {{t2:John Clark: }} has filed for that open position. Clark is the former mayor of Kennedale and most recently the chair of the Kennedale City Charter Review Committee.
