For the Kats, after a rough pre-district season, the district schedule has allowed them space and time to regroup and find the team chemistry needed for a playoff run. It seems to have worked as they rolled through the district as they extended their district winning streak to 20 games.?Up next UIL playoffs …?Kennedale is no stranger here, having made the playoffs now for 17 years. But, neither is their first opponent, the Godley Lady Wildcats (16-19, 6-6).??
Usually in bi-district match-up when a # 1 seed plays a # 4 seed, it provides a warm-up game for the top ranked team, a sure win. For Kennedale, this time around, it is a match-up with an old rival, one that has bested Kennedale a number of times over the years.
?
Forget that Godley is a 4th seed out of District 8-4A. They played in very tough district this year that featured the #2 team in Class 4A, Glen Rose (31-1, 12-0) followed by Midlothian Heritage and Stephenville. Beyond that, Kennedale and Godley know each other well. They play the same aggressive? style of game. So, even in what seems an off-year for Godley, expect some fireworks in the first round.?
