Clay Hickey, a senior for the Kennedale Wildcat Soccer team, announced Saturday by a tweet, that he has signed with Kansas Wesleyan University to play soccer. {{more:Continue …}}Hickey, who says he has played soccer since he was 6 years old and ?loved every minute of it,? is a captain for the Wildcat soccer this year. He was 1st Team All-District last year.He had posted earlier this past year on his 2017 Recruiting Profile page, ?I wish to pursue soccer in college as I have dreamed about for years.? On Saturday after signing, he said in his announcement “Surprised? Me too! These next four years should be fun though!
The Wildcats are currently in a battle for a higher seed in the upcoming UIL state soccer playoffs. The Wildcats have made the playoffs three straight years now.
The Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes finished the season at 13-6-1 but came close to spotless conference record at 9-1-1. KYU is a consistent conference challenger. The last two years they have finished no lower than 4th place and won a title in 2013-14.

Hickey will also join Kennedale alumni Colton Otts (KHS 2016) who is a redshirted freshman for the Coyote basketball team this year.
