John Douglas “Doug” Woolsey, 85, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, in Arlington.Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, 6102 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington, {{more}}with Mr. Ryan Inlow officiating. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.Doug was born May 9, 1929, in Parker County to Herschel Woolsey and Edna L. Potts Woolsey. He retired from Frito Lay in Fort Worth.Doug was a resident of Kennedale for the past 18 years and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. He loved singing, golfing, playing guitar, traveling and gardening. Doug never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Virginia Woolsey; sons, James Woolsey and wife, Anne, and Stan Woolsey; brother, Austin Woolsey and wife, Mary; sister, Nelda Paschal; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
