John Erick Hermens 1942 – 2016

John Erick Hermens, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, in Dallas. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Saturday at Lake Arlington Baptist Church, 2912 Little Road, Arlington. {{more:[read more]}}

 

John was born on Jan. 9, 1942, in San Diego, Calif., to John H. Hermens and Atelina Ericksson Hermens.

 

He graduated from Kennedale High School in 1959. He served in the Navy from 1960-1962. He then went to work for Murdock Machine and Engineering as a machinist for 25 years.

 

John was a charter member of the Pantego Lions Club since 1982. Some of his awards included: Lion of the Year, Helen Keller Award and Melvin Jones Fellow.

 

Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Sharon Hermens; daughters, Pamela Jean Park and husband, Elliott, and Elizabeth Anne Stewart and husband, Scott; stepbrother, Johnny Harrell; stepsister, Gloria Hardisty and husband, Ted; grandchildren, John Park, Anna Park, Autumn Park, April Park, Lindsey Stewart and Megan Stewart; and a host of family and friends.
