A look back at the 2016 KHS Homecoming …
Two weeks ago, Kennedale celebrated homecoming with a huge win over Diamond Hill-Jarvis 63-0 before a large crowd. All the usual activities were held with the crowning of the Homecoming Queen and King, the crowning of the Coming Home Queen, {{more:Read more …}}a homecoming dance and an All-Class Reunion on Saturday. It was a good weekend.
The following were the home coming nominees and the new King and Queen.
Alumnus Coming Home Queen
The 2015 Coming Home Queen, Mrs. Bon Sharon Hamrick was on hand to present flowers and the traditional tiara to the 2016 Coming Home Queen, Mrs. Tricia Moore Menikos who was escorted by her husband, Judge Tim Menikos.
Tricia attended Kennedale Schools, 1st-12th grades, graduating in the Class of 1971. She began her school involvement in band, was a Cheerleader 3 years, All-District in basketball 3 years, played tennis, was a class officer, Homecoming princess, Football Sweetheart, Most Athletic, All-District in Drama, Miss Kennedale, and participated in various clubs.
Her community involvement has ranged from most every area of church activities, to Campfire Leader, the Huguley Hospital Auxiliary and Chisolm Trail Chapter of American Red Cross. She is currently very active in politics and serves as the President of Reagan Legacy Republican Women. Tricia has 2 children, 1 grandson, and resides with her husband of 34 years, Judge Tim Menikos of the 323rd District Court of Tarrant County.

Freshman Class:
Freshman Lady Miss Stephanie Diaz was escorted by the Freshman Lord, Mr. Jamal Marshall. Stephanie is the daughter of Juan Carlos and Rosa Diaz.

Miss Diaz is a member of the KHS Student Council, in numerous Pre-AP classes and is a former member of the Wildcat basketball and track teams. The teachers that inspire Stephanie are Mrs. Naughton, because “she is always willing to help me, and anyone else, that?s going through a difficult time? and Ms. Bowens for “always being very understanding.?Freshman Lord Mr. Jamal Marshall. Jamal is the son of Kristin Fuller.Jamal?s high school accomplishment is making the KHS A-B Honor Roll. The teacher that inspires Jamal is Coach Lucero, because “he is a good teacher.?
Sophomore Class:

Sophomore Duchess Miss Caren Pena was escorted by Sophomore Duke, Allen Nguyen. Caren is the daughter of Paula Pena.
Caren?s high school accomplishments include being a member of the KHS drum line and a member of the Lady Kats softball team at 2nd base.The teacher that inspires Caren is Mr. Oktay because “he encouraged her to work hard for all the things she has accomplished.”
Sophomore Duke Allen Nguyen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen.Allen?s high school accomplishments include being a member of the KHS Wildcat Band and the Wildcat freshmen football team.
Junior Class:
Junior Princess Miss Julissa Mireles is being escorted by Junior Prince Mr. Kamrhan Pate. Julissa is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Veronica and Jorge Mireles.

Her high school accomplishments include being a member of the Key Club, Varsity Choir, Practicum Health Science, National Honor Society and receiving a school academics award.The teacher that inspires her the most is Mr. Burke because he is “a really good teacher who really cares for them and he has encouraged her to be the best in the medical field and he never doubted her abilities.”
Junior Prince Mr. Kamrhan Pate is the son of Lance and Melinda Pate. Kamrhan?s high school accomplishments include being a member of the A/V club and A/V Practicum.The teacher that inspired him the most is Coach Cone because “he always encouraged him to do his best and make himself better.?
Senior Class:

Cedric?s high school accomplishments are being a member of the Varsity soccer team, and being awarded class clown all of his years.
The teacher that inspires Cedric the most is Mrs. Naughton because “she has the same outgoing personality as he does and she inspires him to be his best self and constantly giving him words of inspiration.?
Cedric?s plan after high school is to join the United States Air Force.

His favorite high school accomplishment has been being a member of the Chess club. The teacher that inspires Utillis the most is Mrs. Naughton because “she is a nice and a helpful teacher.?
After high school, Utillis plans on attending UNT and majoring in music.
Senior Queen Nominee Miss Emmaline Prinz. She is the daughter of Tami and Ernie Prinz. She was escorted her father, Ernest Prinz.

Emmaline?s high school accomplishments include being captain of the color guard, a member of Spanish National Honor Society and National Honor Society. This is also the 7th year that Emmaline has participated in band.
The teacher that inspires her the most is Ms. Lacey because “she encourages her to do her best.?
Her plans after high school are to major in biology in the hopes of being a cardiologist.
Senior Queen Nominee Miss Taylor Fox is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fox. Taylor was escorted by her father, Brian Fox.

Taylor?s high school accomplishments include being a two time state champion on the LadyKats soccer team, being a member of the National Honor Society and a member of PAL.
The teacher that inspires Taylor the most is Mrs. Naughton because “she is always there for her and she genuinely cares about her success which inspires her to be the best she can be.?
Taylor?s plans after high school are to attend the University of Oklahoma and pursue a career in occupational therapy.

Queen Miss Alondra Olmos. She is the daughter of Andy and Roman Olmos. Alondra was escorted by her father Roman Olmos.
High school accomplishments for Alondra include second-team, all-district and newcomer of the year her freshman year on the LadyKats soccer team. Midfielder MVP her sophomore year, First team all-district her junior year and 2 time state soccer champion in 2015 and 2016.
The teachers that inspire Alondra the most are Coach Strange, Mrs. Naughton and Mr. Funderburk.
Alondra?s plans after high school are to attend A&M University-Commerce to play soccer and major in nursing.
King Mr. Carson Ham. Carson is the son of Shawn and Debra Ham. Carson was escorted onto the field by his mother Debra.
Carson?s high school accomplishments include being a 4-year varsity cross country runner, 2-year varsity captain of the cross country team, Senior class president for 4 years, National Merit Commended Scholar, Student Council VP 2 years, UIL regional qualifier in science, computer science, and journalism, 4-year drum line member, computer science society chairman, Key Club member and Top 10% in the class.
The teacher who inspires Carson is Mr. Matuni for “teaching him how to be a problem solver and helping him discover and develop his talents.?
