A large crowd was on hand Friday night to celebrate homecoming at Kennedale High School and to watch the #6 state ranked Wildcat football take on the Wildcats from Whitehouse. {{more: continued …}}
 
It turned out to be a perfect night. The Kennedale Lady Kat varsity volleyball team wrapped up a first round 6-0 district record with a sweep of Lake Worth and the Kennedale Wildcat football continue their 4-0 perfect record with a 56-13 trouncing of the Whitehouse Wildcats.
 
Coming Home Queen 2017 ?
 
The 2017 Alumni Coming Home Queen Lisa Biondi Greenfield was crowned by the 2016 Coming Home Queen Tricia Moore Menikos. Lisa is in a family of over 5 generations which attended Kennedale Schools. She is the daughter of John, Jr & Billie Biondi.

Lisa attended Kennedale District grades 1-12, graduating in the class of 1977. She was a cheerleader 4 years, Football Sweetheart, Miss KHS, Homecoming nominee, Most Athletic, National Honor society, Student Council Representative, Yearbook Staff, all district basketball
and volleyball, and advanced to Regionals in track.
 
She and her husband, Kerry Greenfield, are celebrating 40 years of marriage and they have a son, Jason and daughter-in-law, Melisa Greenfield and daughter Joni and son-in-law, Derik Patton. Joni teaches at Kennedale’s James A. Arthur. She has 5 beautiful grandchildren, all attend Kennedale Schools. Lisa has pursued a career in Accounting at American Airlines and several other companies. She loves spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren. And loves anything outdoors.

FRESHMAN COURT: The Freshman Lady Navaeh Johnson, was escorted by the Freshman Lord J.D. Coffey. Navaeh is the daughter of Rodric and Shannon Johnson. Navaeh is a former NJHS inductee, former Student Council representative, First Six Weeks Straight A?s, and a member of the varsity soccer team. The person that inspires Navaeh the most is Coach Sidney Danner because he has helped her become a better soccer player. The Freshman Lord is J.D. Coffey. J.D. is the son of Alexys Swartz. He is a member of the Wildcat varsity football team. The teacher that he says inspires him is Coach Joey Lucero because he ?makes class fun.?

SOPHOMORE COURT: The Sophomore Duchess Ally Rios was escorted by Sophomore Duke Joe Cullum. Ally is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mario Rios. She is a member of the Wildcat marching band and was a manager of the baseball team her freshman year. The teacher that she says inspires her is Mrs. Julie Naughton because she wants me ?to be my best, even on my worst days.? Sophomore Duke, Mr. Joe Cullum is the son of Aaron and Carolyn Cullum. Joe is a member of the KHS baseball team and powerlifting team and also in the KHS Wildcat marching band. The teacher that inspires Joe is Coach Matt Munson because he ?pushes him to do his best.?

JUNIOR COURT: The Junior Princess Tatum Spradley, was escorted by Junior Prince Elvon Bowman. Tatum is the daughter of Karen and Kyle Spradley. She is a member of Key Club, National Honor Society and Top Band. Tatum says that the teacher who inspire her is Coach Matt Munson because of ?his dedication to his students.? The Junior Prince Elvon Bowman is the son of Ejuan and Toni Bowman. Elvon has been a member of the Kennedale band since sixth grade and is currently on the drumline. Elvon is also a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and the junior class vice-president. The teacher who has inspired Elvon the most is Irene Owens because during his first year in Kennedale she gave me a perspective on what Kennedale was going to be like.

SENIOR COURT:
 

Senior King Nominee Chris Chen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kuo Chiang Chen. Chris was escorted by his mother, Shu fang Lin. Chris is National Spanish Honor Society Historian, National Honor Society Parliamentarian, a State qualifier in UIL Computer Science and participates in UIL Journalism. The teachers that Chris says inspire him are Mr. Matuni and Maestra Stephens for encouraging him to pursue a higher education. Chris? plans after high school are to go to college and major in computer science. Chris is also considering pursuing a Master?s degree.

 

Senior King Nominee Dan Nguyen was escorted his mother Nhung Vuong . Dan is the son of Son Nguyen and Nhung Vuong . Dan has been a member of the KHS Wildcat band, Key Club, National Honor Society, Student Council and participates in UIL Journalism. Dan says that the teachers who inspire him most are Ms. Bowens and the late Mr. Ross Shreves because they both taught him that ?respect comes from the way you treat others.? After high school, Dan plans on attending college and majoring in computer engineering.

 

Senior Queen Nominee Miss JiSoo Chong was escorted her father, Woo Suk Chong. JiSoo is the daughter of Hee Kyung and Woo Suk Chong. JiSoo says that the teacher who inspires her the most is Mrs. Julie Naughton for ?her love for her students and passion for teaching.? JiSoo is the KHS Wildcat band drum major; was an all-State band member; is part of the Peer PAL practicum class and the National Honor Society treasurer.

 

Senior Queen Nominee Miss Karrington Davis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Davis. Karrington was escorted by her father, Jerome Davis. Karrington is a member of the International Thesbian Society. Karrington also placed 1st in district UIL Poetry Interpretation and placed 2nd in the annual KHS I-Sing competition. Karrington said that the teacher who inspires her is Mr. Matuni because he made ?everything a good thing.? After high school, Karrington plans to go to college and study performing arts in education with the goal of being a theatre teacher. Karrington also added that she will also get a dog.

 
HOMECOMING KING AND QUEEN:
 

2017 KHS Homecoming Queen Miss Claudia Vilchez is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O?Brien. Claudia was Jon O?Brien. Claudia is a National Honor Society officer, senior class vice president, Kennedale Youth Advisory Council vice chair, a student council representative, a Key Club member, part of the PAL practicum class, and participates in UIL Journalism. Claudia says that she has too many teachers that inspire her and could not pick just one. After high school, Claudia plans on attending college, majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Business.

2017 Homecoming King Uniikye Washington is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Washington. He was escorted by his mother onto the field. Uniikye has served as class president for 3 years, a 2- year varsity basketball captain, and National Honor Society human relations. Uniikye says that the teacher who inspires him the most is Coach Groff because of ?his commitment to his job.? After high school, Uniikye plans to attend a 4-year university where he will major in octuorial science and minor in accounting, as well as play basketball.
