KHS compete at District sends 14 to Academic Region Meet

On April 5th and 6th, 25 KHS students competed in a variety of academic contests at the District Meet. Fourteen of those students will advance to the UIL Region Contest this week in Lubbock. {{more:[Read more]}}

Kennedale won four 4 golds including two team awards, 9 silver

including another two team awards and 4 bronze medals. The KHS computer science team sweep the top

medals while winning the first place team award. KHS is the home to last year?s state UIL 4A 2nd place computer science team.

 
5 advanced to state last year …
 
Individual students earning 1st, 2nd or 3rd place and teams earning a 1st place have the opportunity to compete at the region contest. Some students will be competing in multiple categories. Last year KHS sent 17 to the regionals and 5 advanced to State.
 
Earning return trips to Lubbock are Alissa Boubel, Katie Randolph, Courtney Himes, Carson ham and Danielle Hall.

Computer Science: 1st place team and taking 1st ?through 4th place individual were Carson Ham (1st), Johnny Zielinski (2nd), Jase Attaway (3rd), Dimitri Bray (4th).

Prose Interpretation: Alissa Boubel (1st)
 
Ready Writing: Danielle Hall (3rd)
 
Number Sense: Jimmy Crisp (2nd)
 
Current Events: 1st place team Johnny Zielinski, Alex Groff, Andrew Flannigan and Nic Stroud
 
Accounting: Courtney Hines (2nd)
 
Literary Criticism: Jamie Najar (2nd)
 
News Writing: Katie Randolph (3rd)
 
Science: Carson Ham (2nd and top scorer in Chemistry and Physics)
 
Feature Writing: Claudia Vilchez (2nd)
