This past week, Wheeler won gold at the District 8-5A meet in the 100 fly with a time 1:01.48 which is also a personal best. At the same meet, she came in 2nd place in the 200M.?

Alexis practices every day at the Mansfield Natatorium. As a Kennedale athlete, her fees for swim meets are covered by Kennedale athletics.

While there maybe some smaller classification schools that can field a team for competition in the 5A ranks many field a partial team that may consist of just one or two swimmers. Smaller classification high schools in the North Texas area that have swimmers who compete in 5A include Argyle, Decatur, WF Hirschi, Godley, Midlothian Heritage, FW Benbrook, Ranchview, Melissa, Royse City and Celina.

Several years ago, Blake Bunnell as a senior (KHS Class of 2015) won a bronze and a silver at the state UIL Championships for Class 5A while swimming as the lone representative for Kennedale High School.?
