? ? ?Kennedale ISD has been informed by the Arlington Police Department that a former employee has been arrested for sexual assault of a minor. They also informed the district that the incident occurred when the person was no longer employed by Kennedale ISD. The safety of our students is our utmost responsibility and we take these situations very seriously, therefore, we are cooperating fully with the Arlington Police Department in their investigation.?

? ? ?ARLINGTON ? A former Kennedale ISD teacher?s aide has been charged with sexual assault of a child related to a report that he had a relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
? ? ?Juan Clemente Silvas, 24, was arrested and charged on Tuesday. Silvas left the Kennedale Independent School District for a job in Dallas ISD and was set to start the day he was arrested. The alleged crime occurred after he left his position at Kennedale ISD. alt=”” />

? ? ?Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said the victim?s mother reached out to the department on Sunday, triggering the investigation. He was arrested after voluntarily coming to the department for an interview with a detective.
? ? ?He was arrested Tuesday and released on $3,500 bond later that day.

? ? ?The Dallas Morning News reported that Silvas was starting a new job at Hillcrest High in Dallas through the Academic Success Program. A Dallas ISD spokesman said that he worked for the Academic Success Program, an outside vendor of the district, and was not an employee of DISD.

? ? ?Channel 11 CBS News reported that the Arlington Police said that there is no indication that there are any other victims.?
