These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
Incident Reports …
6/18 – Driving While Intoxicated – Mansfield Avenue: At 2:58 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle stopped in a roadway. Upon contacting the male driver, the officer observed that the driver appeared intoxicated. The suspect was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to jail where he voluntarily provided a blood sample. He was booked in without incident.
6/18 – Reckless Damage and Destruction – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:05 p.m. a victim reported to police that her vehicle, a silver Honda SUV, was parked in a space at a business. The victim?s passenger door was struck by the driver?s door of a vehicle that pulled into the next parking space. The male driver/suspect went into the business and upon exiting was confronted by the victim and a friend. The suspect refused to give any information and left in the vehicle. Investigators are following up.
6/19 – Driving While Intoxicated – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:40 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The male driver appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. Several containers of beer were found in the vehicle along with an open container of hard liquor. The male was arrested for DWI and was transported to jail for booking. He refused to provide a breath or blood sample.
6/20 – Abandoned/ Found Property – 5300 block of Mansfield Highway: At 4:29 a.m. an officer responded to a location in Forest Hill for a warrant arrest. A male had been stopped by Forest Hill police and was found to have Kennedale warrants. The male was arrested and transported to jail for booking. His bicycle and trailer along with multiple personal items were placed in property at Kennedale P.D. for safekeeping.
6/21 – Theft $750 to $2,500 – Municipal Drive: At 10:25 a.m. a victim reported that his cell phone was taken while he was at a local restaurant eating. The victim believes the phone may have been taken by a homeless person who frequents the restaurant.
