KPD Incident Reports for August 19 – 25, 2018

The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 9 incidents for the one week period August 19 through August 25, 2018. The reports included a hit and run, unlawful carry, DWI, theft and assault.?{{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

8/19 – Hit and Run Accident – Sunrise Drive: At 8:07 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) struck his 2017 GMC truck during the overnight hours. The vehicle was legally parked at the curb.

8/19 ? DWI, Unlawfully Carrying Weapon – 5700 block of E. IH 20: At 8:06 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During an interview with the adult male driver, the officer determined that the driver had been drinking an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested for DWI and transported to jail for a blood draw and for booking. During the interview the officer also found a loaded .40 handgun in the vehicle. The gun and blood sample were both entered into evidence.

8/20 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 12:03 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and female who live together were arguing. The female advised that during the argument the male turned the chair over that she was sitting in and grabbed her. The female had marks consistent with the account. The male was arrested for family violence assault and transported to jail for booking.

8/20 – Possession Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:44 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interview of the driver it was discovered that he was taking a medication for opiate addiction. Further interview with the female passenger as well revealed that she was in personal possession of both methamphetamine and heroin. The passenger was arrested for the narcotics and transported to jail for booking. The narcotics were placed in evidence.

8/20 – Theft $750 to $2,500 – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:36 a.m. a victim reported that his 2002 Lincoln was taken without his permission. The vehicle was taken by a known suspect. While entering the vehicle as stolen dispatch discovered that the vehicle had already been impounded by the Hurst Police Department.

8/22 – Theft – N. Dick Price Road: At 12:45 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown person had stolen his Hydrocodone medication. The victim had reported numerous thefts of medications in the past.

8/22 – Missing Person (Juvenile) – At 1:00 p.m. a parent reported her 15 year old son as missing. The son may have run away due to a conflict with the parent over marijuana use and his behavior at home.

8/24 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 4:41 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. Two family members were in a disagreement but neither person could articulate what the argument was over. A male stated that a female, who is his aunt, had tried to assault him with a stick. He took the stick away from her to prevent injury. The female admitted to having the stick and trying to strike the male but couldn?t say why. No primary aggressor could be determined so officers cleared without making an arrest. The male was given a criminal trespass warning to stay off of the aunt?s property.

8/24 – Forgery – N. Little School Road: At 1:38 p.m. an employee of a credit union reported to police that a known suspect had opened a fraudulent loan with her bank and had withdrawn money from the account. The loan was taken out using the identity of an uninvolved male. The suspect had been arrested by Carrolton Police on an unrelated charge and was still in custody. The suspect had taken money from three different branches of the credit union in three different cities. The bank employee was filing a report with each city.
