The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 20 incidents for the two week period beginning December 24 and ending January 6. {{more: continue …}}
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.?
12/29 – Warrant Arrest (other agency) – Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 12:50 a.m. an officer responded to a suspicious person investigation. Upon interviewing the adult male it was determined that he had multiple arrest warrants out of Bedford and Haltom City. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
12/24 – Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:34 a.m. an officer observed what appeared to be an unoccupied vehicle parked at a gas pump. A routine license check showed the vehicle to be stolen out of Fort Worth. An adult male was discovered to be asleep inside the vehicle. The male was contacted and advised that he had purchased the vehicle in November of 2017, which was shortly after the vehicle was reported stolen. The male was discovered to have 12 arrest warrants issued out of Fort Worth. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The vehicle was impounded for Fort Worth police.
12/25 – Possession Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:19 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver appeared extremely nervous and during the interview was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
12/25 – Domestic Disturbance – Little School Road: At 8:34 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male reported that he was being stalked by a former girlfriend. Upon arrival the male and female had been arguing but were not in a physical altercation. The female was intoxicated and had multiple arrest warrants from Fort Worth. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
12/27 – Assault (Bodily Injury) (Family Violence) – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:02 p.m. officers responded to a report of an assault in progress. A female suspect was alleged to be assaulting a male victim as they drove on Kennedale Parkway. The officers located the male walking in the 300 block. The male stated that he had been in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend as they were driving. She was driving the vehicle and began to strike the male victim multiple times. The victim finally exited the vehicle in the 400 block of Kennedale Parkway and the suspect drove away. He did not want to press charges and refused to cooperate with officers. A video of the incident was made available to officers by a witness. The investigation remains open at this time.
12/27 – Recovered Stolen Vehicle (other agency) – Chappellet Street: At 8:08 p.m. an officer responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in a neighborhood. The license plate given to dispatch by the reporting party showed the vehicle to be stolen out of Arlington. When the officer saw the vehicle, it started moving from the place where it had been parked all day. As the officer turned around to stop the vehicle, the driver fled at a high rate of speed and the vehicle, a Ford F250 truck, was found abandoned a short distance away. The suspect had attempted to drive across a vacant lot and then left the vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed stolen by Arlington and was impounded. Nearby security video captured the suspect getting into the vehicle and leaving. The suspect was not located in the area.
12/27 – Theft- Property $750 to $2,500 – Little School Road: At 7:15 p.m. a company employee for T-Mobile reported the theft of three Apple I-Phones. The phones were display models placed in the showroom. Two suspects came into the store and were looking around. When the employees were busy with other customers, the suspects removed the phones and left.
12/28 – Burglary – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:33 a.m. a victim reported that unknown suspect(s) broke the front window to his business and removed several packs of cigarettes.
12/30 – Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle – Wildcat Way: At 1:25 a.m. an officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked behind the high school field house. The driver, who was reclined in the driver seat, was contacted. The license plate that was displayed was not for the vehicle and further investigation revealed the vehicle to be stolen out of Arlington. The suspect stated that he bought the vehicle from someone in east Fort Worth. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
12/30 – Driving While Intoxicated – IH 20 W.: At 4:08 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for running a red light. The adult male driver was contacted and appeared to be intoxicated. He admitted to drinking alcohol and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail for a voluntary blood draw and booking.

12/31 – Driving While Intoxicated – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:48 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The adult male driver smelled of alcoholic beverage and exhibited signs of intoxication. He was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. He was transported to jail for booking and a voluntary blood draw.
01/02 ? Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information – Woodland Court: At 4:34 p.m. a victim reported to police that an unknown person had used the victim?s information to purchase a new Dodge truck at a dealership in Mississippi. The victim completed an identity theft packet. The report and the packet will be forwarded to the appropriate police agency in Mississippi.
01/03 – Burglary – Oakwood Lane: At 5:23 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown entered her home during the afternoon hours. Suspect(s) removed electronics items.
01/04 ? Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon – Pine Meadow Drive: At 12:13 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The adult male driver and his vehicle both smelled of marijuana, and the driver stated that he had smoked earlier in the day. The officer looked inside the vehicle and observed a .40 caliber handgun sitting in the floor against the console. The driver, who had a history of narcotics possession and felon in possession of a firearm, was immediately handcuffed for safety. The officer also found methamphetamine and related paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
01/04 – Possession Marijuana – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:07 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The adult female driver?s vehicle smelled of marijuana and she stated that she had marijuana in the vehicle. The officer was handed the marijuana and the driver was placed under arrest. The driver was booked into jail without incident.
01/05 – Burglary – Pennsylvania Avenue: At 10:04 a.m. officers responded to a burglar alarm. Upon arrival the officers discovered a patio door that had been broken out. The home owner responded and reported that nothing appeared to be missing. The damage to the door was estimated at $1,000.00.
01/05 – Assault by Contact – N. Little School Road: At 2:15 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female living with her parents reported that she had been assaulted during an argument with her father and mother. The father was determined to have been the primary aggressor and was cited for assault by contact. He had grabbed the victim by the throat but did not cause injury or airway constriction. The victim asked to be escorted to a nearby motel so she could get out of the house.
01/05 – Burglary – Creekwood Court: At 4:11 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown entered his home and removed a number of electronics devices and a firearm. It is believed that the suspect(s) gained entry through a door left ajar for a pet.
01/05 – Incident – Tower Drive: At 5:07 p.m. an officer received a report of unknown narcotics being delivered in the mail. A business owner stated that the postal service had delivered a bag of pills that were not his. After contacting the Poison Control Center, the officer was told that the pills were Ecstasy. The pills were seized and placed in evidence.
