KPD Incident Reports for October 1 -7

The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the one week period of October 1 through October 7, 2017 including public intoxication, recovery of stolen vehicle, invading arrest and forgery. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

 
Incident Reports …
 
10/1 – Theft – $2,500 to $30,000 – Greenfield Court: At 8:48 a.m. a victim reported to police that person(s) unknown removed his 2007 Chevrolet Suburban from his driveway. The theft occurred during the overnight hours. The victim still had both sets of keys in the house.
 
10/1 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – Tealpond Drive: At 5:07 p.m. a victim reported that a possible known suspect poured salt into the gas tank of his Chevrolet truck.
 
10/2 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 2:22 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male resident assaulted two other males at the residence, causing injury. It is unknown what agitated the suspect to the point that he assaulted the victims. The suspect was transported to jail for booking.
 
10/2 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 3:55 p.m. officers responded to a welfare check on a female victim. A counselor had contacted police asking for the welfare check due to concerns raised by a phone call to the victim. The victim was lethargic and appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic. Officers called the counselor back and she spoke to the victim again. The counselor informed officers that the victim had taken an overdose of Xanax in an effort to harm herself. Medics responded and transported the victim to JPS Hospital for emergency medical treatment and a mental detention/evaluation.
 
10/2 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 4:14 p.m. officers responded to a suspicious person. A male was observed with his hands zip-tied together as though he were handcuffed. The male was acting and speaking erratically. He was detained for transport to JPS for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
 
10/2 – Public Intoxication – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:47 p.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. An adult male was harassing an employee at a convenience store but left the location before officers arrived. The male was located a short distance away and appeared to be intoxicated on alcohol. The male was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
 

10/4 – Forgery – Pennsylvania Avenue: At 6:54 p.m. a victim reported that a former employee cashed a forged check written on the victim?s company bank account.

 
10/4 – Missing Person (Juvenile) – Danny Drive: At 11:07 p.m. an officer received a report of a missing 15 year old female. The female was supposed to be staying with a grandparent while her father was out of town. After getting into an argument with her grandparent, the female juvenile left on foot and has not been seen since. The missing juvenile has been entered into the national database as missing/runaway.
 
10/5 – Hit and Run Accident – N. Little School Road: At 10:41 a.m. a victim reported that an unknown male driving a maroon SUV struck the front quarter of the victim?s vehicle. Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction on a four lane roadway when the SUV veered to the right and struck the victim in the outside traffic lane. The suspect made an obscene gesture to the victim and left without stopping.
 
10/5 – Recover Stolen Vehicle (other agency) – Short Street: At 5:40 p.m. an officer discovered a stolen semi-tractor that had been abandoned. The vehicle had minor damage and was reported to be stolen out of Saginaw, Texas. The vehicle was impounded to be held for the owner.
 
10/6 – Evading Arrest (Vehicle) – S. Eden Road: At 8:11 p.m. an officer observed a motorcycle run through a red light at Kennedale Parkway and Eden Road. When the officer attempted to stop the motorcycle the rider attempted to flee, wrecking out a short distance away. The rider/operator was taken into custody at the scene. The motorcycle did not show to be registered anywhere in the country and was impounded to be held for further investigation by the auto theft task force. The operator was transported to jail for booking.
