The following incident reports were made during the two week period from March 27 ? April 9. These reports were in addition to on-going investigations. 03/27 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? 3800 block of New Hope Road: At 10:58 p.m. officers responded to Texas Raceway to a report of a fight involving a person with a gun. On arrival officers detained and interviewed several males and females. It was determined that a male suspect got into a fight with a male victim over a bet on a race. During the altercation the victim walked away. The suspect then turned to the victim?s wife, who was also present and seated in a vehicle. The suspect and another male began to assault the female victim while trying to pull her from her vehicle. The female victim used a handgun in an attempt to defend herself. The female called for her husband, who returned and began to fight with the suspect and his accomplice. The fight stopped when police sirens were heard from responding units. The suspect was identified by witnesses, who verified the story as told by the victims. The suspect was arrested for assault and transported to jail for booking.
03/28 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? Pennsylvania: At 12:39 a.m. officers responded to a suspicious person call. A female victim was knocking at a residence door trying to get assistance. The victim stated that she was visiting at a neighboring home, which belongs to a friend (the suspect). The suspect and victim got into an altercation over the victim?s phone. The suspect struck the victim in the nose, causing it to bleed. The victim was transported to the hospital and was unsure about whether she wanted to press charges or not. The suspect stated that the injury was accidental and that he did not intend to injure the victim. The case remains open.
03/29 – Recover Stolen Vehicle ? 5400 block of High Ridge Road: At 1:35 p.m. an officer observed a trailer parked on the shoulder of a residential street. The trailer was confirmed stolen out of Haltom City. The owner responded and took possession.
03/29 ?Theft $2,500 to $30,000 ? 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:42 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a stolen semi-tractor. The vehicle was equipped with a GPS tracker, which indicated the vehicle to be on I-20 in Eastland County headed west toward Abilene. The victim reported that the driver had been terminated while in Florida, and was ordered to leave the vehicle there and find his own way home to New Mexico. State troopers were contacted and stopped the vehicle on I-20. When stopped, the driver denied any intention of stealing the vehicle but he had gas money and decided to drive the vehicle to get home. It was impounded in Ranger until the victim could respond with proof of ownership. The driver was not arrested pending further investigation.
03/29 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? 200 block of Valley Lane: At 10:05 a.m. a victim reported to police that he was assaulted by his supervisor while at work. The victim and the suspect were in a verbal altercation when the suspect allegedly tore the victim?s shirt and struck him in the face. The victim provided a written statement of the event.
03/30 ? Burglary ? Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 9:34 p.m. a victim reported that he caught an unknown male in his garage attempting to steal tools. The suspect apologized and ran toward some apartments that are located nearby. The victim stated that he sees the suspect walking in the area on a regular basis.
04/01 ? Credit/Debit Card Abuse ? Whitley Court: At 5:27 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown person accessed her bank account and made two fraudulent withdrawals. The withdrawals were made in Aubrey, Texas. The card was cancelled and a new one issued by her bank.
04/01 ? Emotionally Disturbed Person ? W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:49 p.m. officers responded to a report of a female overdose victim. The victim reportedly took 30 pain pills with a small amount of hard liquor. The female stated that she took the pills due to being distraught over a death in the family. She was transported to JPS Hospital for treatment and observation.
04/01 ? DWI ? Shady Bend Drive: At 1:57 p.m. officers responded to a report of a male passed out in a vehicle. A male was located asleep in a utility company truck. Upon being awakened, the male stated that he had worked all night and was tired. The vehicle and the male smelled strongly of alcoholic beverage. The male was unable to successfully pass a sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. A company employee arrived on a separate work order and took possession of the vehicle. The male was transported to jail for a voluntary blood draw and booking.
04/01 ? Burglary ? 6300 block of Tealcove Drive: At 8:28 p.m. a victim reported that her apartment was entered and items were stolen. Person(s) unknown removed a TV and watches valued at $1,450.00. No forced entry was observed at the residence.
04/02 ? DWI ? Woodland Court: At 6:21 p.m. officers responded to a reported of an intoxicated driver. Witnesses stated that a gold Jeep Cherokee had left the road and struck a fence. The driver appeared to be using an aerosol can to get intoxicated by breathing the gases, known as ?huffing.? The vehicle left the scene before officers arrived but witnesses took photos of the incident and vehicle. A license check of the vehicle returned to a local business. The vehicle and driver were located at the business. The driver was interviewed and admitted to using the aerosol can to become intoxicated. He was placed under arrest for the DWI. He was transported to jail for booking.
04/04 ? Burglary ? 7000 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:50 a.m. a business employee reported an overnight burglary. Person(s) unknown cut a hole in the rear of the metal building and removed $1,200.00 in tools.
04/04 ? Forgery ? Municipal Drive: At 1:41 p.m. a victim reported that her debit card was used without authorization to access her bank account. The victim?s debit card was missing and she could not locate it. The card was cancelled.
04/05 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000 ? Fawn Meadow Trail: At 6:59 a.m. a victim reported that his 1986 Chevrolet truck was stolen during the overnight hours. The vehicle was parked in front of his residence.
04/05 ? Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information ? Peachtree Court: At 11:59 a.m. a victim reported that an unknown person used his Social Security number to file a fraudulent tax return.
04/06 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:33 a.m. officers responded to an assault. On arrival a male victim reported that he had been assaulted with a brick by two known assailants, who were present. All parties were interviewed at the time and had conflicting stories. Medics were called to look at the victim?s injuries. The victim required medical treatment and left for the hospital. Further investigation is needed to determine the primary aggressor in this incident.
04/06 ? Forgery ? 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 3:18 p.m. a victim reported that a customer of her business obtained a business check and was able to access her accounts with forged checks to make withdrawals. The accounts have been closed.
04/08 ? Theft Under $100 ? 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:41 p.m. an employee reported that two female suspects entered his store and took two 12-packs of beer without paying. The suspects and their vehicle were photographed by the reporting person.
04/09 ? DWI ? 6500 block of Treepoint Drive: At 10:09 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The driver smelled of alcoholic beverage and stated he had been drinking since 5:00 pm. The driver was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment and was arrested. A subsequent breath test showed an intoxication level of 0.12. The driver was transported to jail for booking.
