The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 23 incidents for the two week period August 4, 2019 through August 17, 2019. The reports included theft, DWI, assault, vehicle burglary, domestic violence, and abandon/found.? {{more:? continue ?}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
Police Reports: 08/04/19 ? 08/10/19

8/04 ? Driving While Intoxicated- Shady Lane: At 2:19 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult male driver (suspect) smelled of an alcoholic beverage and appeared intoxicated. The suspect was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested for DWI and placed in a police vehicle for transport to jail. His female passenger, who was also intoxicated, was wrapped in a blanket and had no clothes on. The female stated that she had no idea where her clothes were. After determining that the female was not in distress she was placed under arrest and transported to jail due to her level of intoxication.

8/04 ? Incident (Other) – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:18 p.m. officers observed a suspicious adult female in the parking lot of a closed business with a juvenile female sleeping nearby. A male was pulling into the lot at the same time. The female reported that she had been working on her motorcycle at a nearby home when she got into an argument with the homeowner. The female left with her daughter and pushed the motorcycle to the business and called a friend for assistance. The male in the truck was her friend. During the contact, it was determined that both adults had arrest warrants but dispatch could not confirm the warrants due to computer issues. The female also had a safety alert from CPS in regards to her six-year-old daughter, who was the sleeping juvenile. CPS was contacted and responded to the scene. CPS also released the female at the scene with no action taken. The motorcycle was released to the male friend and he agreed to keep it at his home for the female. The female and her daughter were transported to their residence by an officer.
8/04 ? Application for Mental Detention and Observation:? At 8:10 p.m. officers responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed person. An adult female had been threatening to harm herself with a box cutter. She texted the message to her husband, who then left work and came home. The female appeared intoxicated and led the officers to believe that she was a danger to herself. She was transported to JPS for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
8/05 ? Abandoned/Found Property – 400 block of Municipal Drive:? At 1:11 p.m. a city employee brought a Visa card to the police department. The card was found in the roadway at Little School Road and Shady Creek Drive.
8/07 ? Assault by Contact – At 9:48 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance A male victim was on the scene and reported that he had been assaulted by his wife. The victim reported that he came to his wife?s home to secure the front gate for the night. The victim and the suspect have not lived together for some time. Before locking the gate the victim stopped in at the residence to check on the female, who was in bed. The female became angry when the victim stated that he couldn?t stay. The suspect followed the victim out of the residence as he tried to avoid an altercation by leaving. He locked the gate but the suspect climbed over. The suspect began to strike the victim and tore his shirt off. The victim fled on foot to get away from the suspect and called the police. The victim did exhibit injuries consistent with his account. Officers then interviewed the suspect, who was walking along the road with a flashlight looking for the victim. She stated that the victim had entered the home and began to assault her while she was lying in bed. The suspect appeared to have been drinking. The suspect described her being assaulted but did not exhibit any injuries. Officers determined that the suspect was the primary aggressor and she was cited for the assault. The suspect requested to be checked by paramedics and requested transport to Mansfield Methodist Hospital.
8/07 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence): At 8:02 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult male victim was located at the scene. The victim reported that his two adult step-sons had been at his home earlier in the evening for a visit. During the visit, a verbal altercation began between the step-sons and the step-father. One of the step-sons assaulted the father, causing injury and bleeding to the bridge of his nose. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.
8/08 ? Abandoned/Found Property – Oak Crest Dr. East:? At 1:15 p.m. a towing company called the police to report that drugs were found in a repossessed vehicle. The narcotics, which tested positive for Ecstasy and cocaine, were found in a silver Kia. The contraband was seized to be held for destruction.
8/10 ? Burglary of Vehicle -? Averett Road:? At 7:31 a.m. a victim reported that a suspect had entered his property and removed a backpack and other personal items from the unsecured bed of a pickup truck. The theft was captured on security video. The suspect was driving a silver four-door passenger car.
8/10 ? Burglary of Vehicle – Averett Road:? At 7:50 a.m. a victim reported that unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle and removed a .32 caliber handgun and personal items. No forced entry was reported.
8/10 ? Assault by Contact – S. Kenney Street:? At 11:19 a.m. officers responded to an assault complaint. A female was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend who had left the scene. The complaining party was a family member of the female victim. The victim was uncooperative with police, denying an assault took place. She had no visible sign of injury. Detectives will follow up.?

Police Reports: 08/11/19 ? 08/17/19

8/11 ? Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon Knife – E. Kennedale Parkway:? At 12:25 p.m. an officer responded to Mansfield Methodist Hospital on an assault complaint. A victim was at the hospital receiving treatment for numerous cuts/wounds made with a knife. The victim reported that he went at a location in Kennedale attempting to recover personal items from a vehicle. The resident (suspect) of the location came out and an argument ensued. The suspect then went into the residence and returned with a large knife. The suspect began to attempt to assault a female who was accompanying the victim. The victim stepped into the path of the suspect to prevent injury to the female. The victim was stabbed/cut at least three times. The victim left to return home but then when to the hospital to seek treatment.
8/11 ? Incident (Other) – Valley Lane: At 8:40 p.m. officers responded to a report of a female, possibly under the influence of methamphetamine, being chased by a male. The female was supposedly on foot and the male was in a vehicle. The female could not be located but did text a family member later to say that she was okay.
8/12 ? Sexual Assault – Parkview Trail:? At 2:04 p.m. a female victim reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by a known suspect. The assault occurred several months earlier. The victim was sent to JPS Hospital for an exam.
8/14 ? Theft Under $100 – W. Kennedale Parkway:? At 4:19 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown suspect entered his store and removed two cases of beer. The suspect left the store and got into a vehicle to leave the scene.
8/14 ? Incident (Other)E. Kennedale Parkway:? At 3:42 p.m. a victim reported that his company had been defrauded by a former employee collecting unearned payroll checks. The theft was discovered after the employee left the company.
8/14 ? Incident (Other) – S. New Hope Road:? At 5:55 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male victim reported that he had been in an altercation with another male at the residence. Neither male would cooperate with officers and neither one wanted to file charges.
8/14 ? Forgery Financial Instrument – Wildcat Way:? At 4:57 p.m. a victim reported that unknown suspect(s) forged three checks on her bank account. A possible suspect name and address were located.
8/15 ? Abandoned/Found Property – 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 8:13 a.m. a small container of prescription drugs was located in the lobby of the police department. The drugs were left before the service counter was opened for business.
8/15 ? Drug Paraphernalia – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:25 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an expired license plate. Upon contacting the driver, the inside of the vehicle smelled of burned marijuana. The driver was discovered to be in possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was cited and released.
8/17 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence)😕 At 11:46 p.m. officers responded to a report of a suicidal person. A male had reportedly made statements that he wanted to harm himself. On arrival, the officers discovered that no threats of self-harm had been made but that a female had assaulted her husband by striking him in the side of his face. The victim exhibited injuries consistent with the reported assault. The female/suspect was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
8/17 ? DWI, Unlawful Carry Handgun by a License Holder – Kennedale Sublett Road:? At 4:39 a.m. an officer responded to a vehicle accident. On arrival, the officer observed a vehicle in the roadway. The driver, an adult male, stated that he had struck a curb and blew out a tire. The driver was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was also found to be a License to Carry holder and was in possession of a firearm while intoxicated. After obtaining a search warrant for blood evidence the suspect was booked into jail.
8/17 ? Vehicle Burglary – Trent Street:? At 10:41 an officer responded to a theft. A victim reported that he left his cell phone in his unsecured vehicle while he went into a residence. Upon returning to his vehicle the phone was missing.
8/17 ? Theft Under $100 – W. Kennedale Parkway:? At 5:36 a.m. a victim reported the theft of several cases of bottled water. The suspect is known to the victim from previous thefts at the location.
