KPD Police Reports: 06/16/19 ? 06/22/19

The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 8 incidents for the one week period June 16, 2019 through June 22, 2019. The reports included burglary, forgery, possession, deadly conduct and unauthorized use of vehicle. {{more: continue ?}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

6/16 ? Application for Mental Detention and Observation, Kennedale Sublett Road
At 1:16 a.m. officers responded to a report of a suicidal person. An adult male was on scene and had been threatening to shoot himself. Two females were on the scene and reported that they had been engaged in trying to talk the male out of harming himself. A 9mm handgun was found in the residence in open view. The male was transported to JPS Hospital for emergency detention and mental evaluation. The firearm was placed in property and evidence for safekeeping.
6/16 ? Burglary of Building Forcible Entry, Village Street
At 9:20 a.m. a city employee reported that unknown person(s) had broken into the concessions building at the city ball fields. Nothing was reported missing but the water connection for the ice machine was broken.
6/16 ? Deadly Conduct (Discharge Firearm), Valley Lane
At 8:24 p.m. officers responded to a report of gunshots fired. On arrival, a male was observed lying prone in the roadway. A female was standing nearby. The male stated that he was not shot but had been struck by the suspects? vehicle. The male reported that he and his aunt had heard the gunshots and went outside to investigate. After checking their vehicles and property they looked at the surrounding area. Several males were observed near a wooded area firing a handgun. When the male confronted the suspects they entered their vehicle to leave. The male attempted to stop them and the driver struck him with the vehicle. The male was treated at the scene by paramedics. The suspects? vehicle was described as a black BMW with Texas license plates. The female was able to get a photo of the suspect vehicle and license plate as it left the area.
6/17 ? Possession Control Substance, Clearbrook Drive
At 11:34 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. The adult male driver was interviewed and found to be in possession of several vials of THC oil. The driver was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The narcotic was placed in evidence.
6/17 ? Prohibited Substance/Item in Correctional Facility, W. Kennedale Parkway
At 7:18 p.m. an officer responded to a disturbance arising out of a minor vehicle accident. One of the drivers was found to have a parole violation warrant and was arrested for transport to jail. After arriving at the facility the suspect revealed that he had marijuana secreted on his person in a plastic bag. The marijuana was seized as evidence.
6/20 ? Possession Control Substance, Mistletoe Drive
At 1:13 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The adult male driver was found to be in possession of a vial of THC oil. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking. The narcotic was placed in evidence.
6/19 ? Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, S. New Hope Road
At 8:57 a.m. an officer observed an abandoned Ford Explorer in Sonora Park. Telephone contact was made with the owner of the vehicle, who was unaware that it was at the location. The vehicle had been left at another location for a test drive by a prospective buyer. The owner responded to take possession of the vehicle.
6/20 ? Forgery of Financial Instrument, N. Little School Road
At 2:45 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown person cashed a forged check drawn on the victim?s company bank account.
