The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 10 incidents for the one week period July 14, 2019 through July 20, 2019. The reports included possession, assault, found debit card, theft and recovered stolen vehicle. {{more: continue ?}}These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.?Incident reports …7/14 ? Theft $100 to $750 – E. Kennedale Parkway … At 5:32 p.m. officers responded to a burglary in progress. A male had been observed on a security video walking on a business property with several items belonging to the property owner. When officers arrived they found the property at the rear fence but the suspect was not on scene. The property was secured at the Police Department as evidence until the owner could be contacted. After securing the property an officer returned to the area and observed a male on foot in the immediate area of the offense location. The male matched the suspect description that was originally given to officers. During an interview with the male, it was discovered that he had an active burglary warrant from Tarrant County. He was placed under arrest for the warrant and transported to jail for booking. Later in the shift, a video of the suspect at the original call was made available to officers. It was confirmed that the burglary arrestee was in fact the same person attempting to steal the items from the location on Kennedale Parkway.7/15 ? Possession Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway ? At 2:24 a.m. an officer stopped to investigate a suspicious vehicle that had pulled into the rear of a closed business. The vehicle contained two males and a female. The female was coming from the dumpster and stated that she was looking for discarded food. During the interview, the officer discovered that the driver was wanted by Johnson County on a warrant for controlled substance possession. He was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest for the contraband. The suspect was booked into jail without incident.7/15 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – W. Kennedale Parkway ? At 8:44 a.m. officers responded to an assault report. A female victim reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her as she drove him to work. The victim stated that she was struck on the cheek and scratched on the arm. The suspect was placed under arrest for transport to jail and for booking.7/15 ? Warrant Arrest for Other Agency – 1300 block of Gilman Road ? At 11:10 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle being driven with no license plate. The vehicle pulled into a local business and parked. When the officer reached the vehicle there was no driver behind the wheel. A male passenger was inside and stated that the driver went into the business where the truck was parked. No driver could be located and the passenger could give no more information on him other than he was male and didn?t know his name. The passenger was found to have multiple warrants out of multiple agencies and was placed under arrest for transport to jail and for booking. The truck had a punched out ignition switch as well as no license plate, and the stereo radio had been removed from the dash and was lying on the floor. The truck appeared to be stolen. It was impounded due to the owner not being available to take possession.7/15 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – I-20 Service Road ? At 11:09 a.m. a victim reported that her company had experienced multiple thefts over several days. A number of items were removed from the property.7/16 ? Assist Other Agency – E. Kennedale Parkway ? At 1:15 a.m. officers responded to a vehicle burglary in progress call in unincorporated Tarrant County. Sheriff?s deputies were in route but not on scene. Upon arriving at the location the officers discovered a male hiding under a vehicle. The male was detained and held for deputies, who arrived a short time later.7/18 ? Possession Control Substance – S. New Hope Road ? At 1:46 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for equipment violations. The female driver and male passenger both smelled of marijuana. During an interview, both were found to be in possession of marijuana cigarettes coated with THC oil. In addition, the passenger was found to have arrest warrants out of Tarrant County. Both were arrested and transported to jail for booking.7/18 ? Assault by Threat (Family Violence) – North Road ? At 10:08 p.m. officers responded to a threats complaint. A juvenile female reported being threatened with a knife by her grandmother. A separate witness confirmed the victim?s account. The grandmother was issued a citation for assault by threat and a report was made to CPS for follow-up.7/20 ? Recover Stolen Vehicle (Other Agency) – Gilman Road ? At 10:45 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle parked at a known location for criminal activity. The vehicle was parked in the driveway and the temporary license plate returned with active arrest warrants for a male. A female was sitting in the passenger seat. The passenger was able to identify the driver by name. A male and female standing on the porch went into the house as the officer pulled up and refused to come outside or speak to the officer. The vehicle, a silver Jeep Cherokee, was reported stolen out of Euless. A man?s wallet was found in the driver’s side door and contained the driver?s identification as stated by the passenger. The vehicle was impounded to be held for Euless.Detectives will follow up.7/20 ? Abandoned/ Found Property – Municipal Drive ? At 3:17 p.m. a complainant brought a debit card to the police department for safekeeping. The card had been left in an ATM in Arlington.
