The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 36 incidents for the two week period May 19, 2019 through June 1, 2019. The reports included assault, family violence, theft, burglary, hit & run, criminal mischief and possession.??{{more: continue …}}
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.?
5/19 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation -? At 5:16 a.m. officers responded to an intentional overdose call. An adult female was conscious but was semi-coherent. The female stated that she took an overdose of blood pressure medication. The female was checked by medics and then was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
5/19 – Assault Bodily Injury – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:45 a.m. officers responded to a report of an assault. A juvenile male victim reported that he had been assaulted by several subjects at the car wash on Corry A. Edwards Drive at Kennedale Parkway. The assault was reported by a neighbor who heard loud voices and observed the injured victim walking to his home a short distance away. The victim was able to identify a possible suspect.
5/19 – Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:56 p.m. an officer observed a suspicious vehicle at a business. Upon stopping to investigate, it was discovered to be the manager of the business. The officer discovered through a computer check that the manager?s vehicle was reported stolen out of Fort Worth. The manager was placed under arrest and the vehicle, a black Chevrolet Silverado, was impounded to be held for Fort Worth.?5/19 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 7:31 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. On arrival a female was located in a residence and a male was sitting on a car outside. The female had a bloody nose and appeared to have been assaulted. The female reported that the male had assaulted her. When officers attempted to speak with the male he became belligerent and began to resist being searched and handcuffed. The male was found to have Xanax and a meth pipe on him as well as three outstanding arrest warrants from Burleson. The suspect was arrested for the narcotics and the family violence assault. He was transported to jail for booking.
5/20 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 12:01 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A mother reported being assaulted by her adult son during an altercation. The assault was confirmed by the suspect?s father, who was at home during the altercation. The male was arrested for the assault as well as outstanding warrants from Arlington and Forest Hill.
5/20 – Burglary – Sublett Road: At 10:16 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) had entered a fenced-in area at the rear of his business property and removed several hundred dollars in tools from a vehicle and a shed.
5/20 – Theft $100 to $750 – Valley Lane: At 1:12 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) removed approximately 600 gallons of diesel fuel from his business tank.
5/21 – Theft $100 to $750 – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:35 a.m. a victim reported that a male came into the business and removed a drill set without paying. The suspect drove away in a black Honda CR-V. A video of the offense was available.?5/21 ? Hit and Run Accident – 600 block of N. Little School Road: At 9:10 p.m. officers responded to a hit and run accident. A female victim reported that her vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle driven by an unknown female. The accident damaged the victim?s rear bumper and back windshield. The victim provided a description and a license number for the suspect. The vehicle registered to a residence in Kennedale. The officer was able to locate the suspect vehicle but was unable to get the suspect to answer the door.
5/21 – Criminal Mischief $2,500 of $30,000 – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:55 p.m. a victim reported that the copper lines to his outdoor air conditioning compressor had been cut in an attempt to steal the unit.
5/22 – Sexual Assault of a Child (Contact) – At 1:07 p.m. detectives received a report through CPS of a sexual assault of a child.
5/22 – Indecency w/ Child Sexual (Contact) – At 1:07 p.m. detectives received a report of sexual abuse of two children who live at the same address. The report came through CPS.
5/22 – Missing Person (Adult) – At 2:07 p.m. an officer received a report of a missing adult male. The male was reported to be suffering from a head injury and has trouble with short term memory at times.
5/22 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 4:57 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed person threatening to harm herself. The female, an adult, was located in a residence. The female did confirm that she was intent upon suicide and was taken into custody. She was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
5/22 – Incident (other) – W. Kennedale Parkway: On this date a school resource officer received a CPS report of possible child abuse. The victim was an elementary school student. After interviewing the student and faculty/staff, the officer spoke to the CPS investigator, who had interviewed the possible suspect/parent. Both officers agreed that there were no indicators of child abuse in the home.
5/23 – Unlawful Possession Firearm by Felon – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:47 p.m. officers responded to a report of a person with a gun. A male in a white Dodge truck had allegedly pointed a handgun at a complainant. The vehicle was located a short distance away and stopped by officers. The male driver was observed with a handgun in the front seat as well as a rifle in the rear window. The male was placed under arrest for a felon in possession of a firearm due to past convictions.
5/23 – Sexual Assault – Peachtree Court: At 1:00 p.m. a school resource officer received a report of a sexual assault. A male juvenile was reported to have sexually assaulted a female victim at her home. The case is under investigation.
5/23 – Assault by Contact – Woodland Court: On this date a female victim reported that she had been assaulted by another female who lived on her street. The victim reported that the suspect had been driving aggressively in Arlington and both vehicles turned onto the same street. The suspect lived several doors down from the victim. When confronted about the aggressive driving, the suspect spit on the victim.
5/25 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 7:37 p.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. A male was located carrying a large knife and appeared to be in some sort of mental distress. After disarming the male the officer detained him for an emergency mental evaluation. He was transported to JPS Hospital.
5/25 – Public Intoxication – North Road: At 7:58 p.m. officers responded to a report of a person with a gun. On arrival officers met with a male victim who stated that the suspect male had been threatening to him and had tried to assault him. The suspect was located and was briefly aggressive toward officers before being placed in custody for public intoxication (narcotics). No weapon was located.?5/25 – Burglary – Dick Price Road: At 4:20 p.m. an officer discovered a business that had been forcibly entered. The manager reported nothing of value missing. Two nearby businesses also had damage to buildings and equipment with tools missing.
Police Reports (May 26 -June 1, 2019)
5/26 – Abandoned/ Found Property – 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 7:18 a.m. a citizen turned a found wallet in to police. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful. The wallet was placed in property for safe keeping.5/26 – Possession Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:38 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress call. Arriving officers observed the vehicle in question and stopped it for investigation. One of the occupants, an adult female, was found to be in possession of prescription narcotics not prescribed to her as well as marijuana and a glass pipe. The female was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
5/27 – Burglary – S. New Hope Road: At 1:03 p.m. a victim reported that his business office was burglarized. Unknown person(s) entered the office and removed property valued at $2,000.
5/28 – Burglary – 6300 block of Tealpond Drive: At 11:27 a.m. a victim reported the burglary of a tool shed. Unknown person(s) removed property valued at $1,040.5/28 – Child Abuse – Municipal Drive: At 8:17 a.m. a detective received a report from CPS regarding child abuse/neglect. The case is under investigation.
5/28 – Possession Control Substance – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:51 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress. Three suspects and their vehicle were located still on scene. The driver was sitting in the vehicle while the other two suspects were walking toward the vehicle. During an interview the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The other two suspects were released at the scene.
5/29 – Possession Drug Paraphernalia – Susan Drive: At 4:53 a.m. officers responded to a burglary in progress. An adult male was holding another adult male in custody, accusing him of breaking into a shed on the property. It was determined that the male being held down had been invited by the other male?s spouse to come to the residence. When the invited male was found on the property, he was assaulted by the husband and his cell phone was taken and locked in a box in the shed. When officers recovered the cell phone, they discovered methamphetamine paraphernalia and residue in the box. The wife admitted to being the owner of the box. She was charged with the paraphernalia. The non-resident male did not want to press any charges for assault and robbery. They were released at the scene.?5/30 – Hit and Run Accident – Sublett Road: At 5:11 p.m. two drivers contacted police to report that their vehicles had been struck by a hit and run driver. The vehicles were travelling in the same direction on Sublett Road and were being followed by a black Chevrolet truck. The truck attempted to pass the two vehicles and struck both of them on the driver side of each vehicle. The truck then kept going, turning south on New Hope Road. One of the drivers was able to get photos of the suspect vehicle and license plate.
5/30 – Burglary of Vehicle – S. New Hope Road: At 8:38 p.m. a victim reported that her vehicle had been entered and gone through. Nothing was missing and no forced entry was observed.
5/29 – Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – Valley Lane: At 5:57 a.m. officers responded to a theft in progress. A business employee had reported for work and observed an unknown male driving away in a truck pulling a trailer belonging to the business. The suspect wrecked into a tree and fled the scene on foot before officers? arrival. The suspect vehicle contained identifying items for the suspect. The trailer was released to the business owner while the truck was impounded.
5/31 – Abandoned Vehicle – N. Little School Road: At 11:30 a.m. an officer responded to an abandoned vehicle in the traffic lane on Little Road at Potomac Parkway. The vehicle was towed for safe keeping when the owner couldn?t be contacted.
6/01 – Injury Child/ Elderly/ Disabled – S. Kenney Street: At 9:14 p.m. an officer received a report of physical abuse of a child. The complainant, who is the mother of the abused children, stated that she left her three children in the care of an adult male friend for approximately two hours. On her return the mother observed injuries to two of the children while giving them a bath. The children stated that the adult male had caused the injuries when he became angry. After getting information for a report, the officer contacted Cook?s Children?s Hospital to notify them that the mother was on the way to have the children examined. A report was also made to CPS.
6/01 – Recovered Stolen Vehicle (other agency) – Lindale Road: At 8:10 p.m. an officer was making a property check when a vehicle was discovered that wasn?t supposed to be on property. A computer check revealed the vehicle to be stolen out of Fort Worth. The vehicle was impounded to be held for Fort Worth police.
6/01 – Theft $100 to $750 – Municipal Drive: At 1:43 p.m. a victim reported that he placed a video game deck for sale on a web site. When the victim met up with the buyer, the victim was paid in counterfeit money. The suspect drove away with the game deck.?Link: Kennedale Police Department ?
