The Kennedale Police reported three hit and run incidents covering the period February 22 – March 7 along with incidents of possession and theft in their weekly incident reports. {{more}}
02/28 – Hit and Run Accident – 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:12 p.m. a victim reported that a white Chevrolet Tahoe struck his vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Caravan, while it was parked in a parking lot. The Tahoe driver left without contacting the victim with reporting information.
03/01 – Injury Accident – 500 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to a hit and run accident involving a red truck that had left the scene. While responding to the location in the 900 block of Kennedale Parkway, the officers were flagged down by a numerous persons who had blocked in a red pick up truck. The truck turned out to be the suspect vehicle. The suspect was a 25 year old Mexican national who spoke no English and had a visible injury to his face. He was treated at the scene by paramedics but refused transport to the hospital. The suspect was detained by officers, who were able to determine that the suspect had struck another vehicle from behind. The collision caused injury to a 10 year old male victim riding in the car. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The suspect was transported to jail for booking, where a Spanish-speaking jailer was able to inform him of his rights and charges. He was booked in without incident.
03/01 – Theft $500 to $1,500 – 400 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:36 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a theft report at a car dealership. The victim/business owner showed the officer video footage of two suspects stealing tires and wheels from the property. The value of the items removed was placed at $1,400.00. The video was given to police.
03/06 – Hit and Run Accident – 4800 block of U.S. 287: At 9:22 a.m. a victim reported that her vehicle was struck in the parking lot of the Walmart on Little Road. The incident occurred the day before and was captured on security video. The accident was referred to Arlington P.D. for their jurisdiction over the parking area.
