On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, School Resource Officers were contacted by the Kennedale ISD School Safety and Security Director, Logan Barrett in reference to a student pointing a gun at another student on a school bus. {{more: continue …}}

School Resource Officer met with KISD Administrator who received an email from a parent stating a student pointed a gun at another student on the bus ride home. The parent stated the student was scared and reported it to her when he got home.

Kennedale Officers and KISD were unable to attain the identity of suspect until the bus returned to the Kennedale Bus Barn and video recording of the incident was retrieved.

School Resource Officer and KISD were able to identify the suspect as a student from Kennedale Junior High School. Contact was made with the student?s guardian and stopped any further threats. The gun was identified as a pistol style BB gun. The weapon did not have any markings identifying it as a BB gun.

The Kennedale Police Department filed Terroristic Threat charge against the juvenile student with the Tarrant County Juvenile Services.
