The Kennedale Police Department reported the following ten incidents for the one week period May 13 through May 19, 2018. The reports included burglary, domestic violence, evading arrest and a hit & run. {{more: continue …}}
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
Incident Reports …
5/13 – Incident – At 11:13 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Two female residents of the location had gotten into an argument. There was apparently some type of physical contact but the two reporting parties stories varied greatly. There were no evident injuries and no primary aggressor could be determined. One of the females appeared to be intoxicated. Both persons were reluctant to speak about the physical altercation. The intoxicated person called a ride and left for the night.
5/14 – Assault by Contact – At 9:52 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim reported that her boyfriend had pushed her to the ground during a verbal altercation. The suspect fled the residence before officers arrived.
5/15 – Hit and Run Accident – 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:50 a.m. a victim reported that her vehicle had been struck by another vehicle driven by a female suspect while driving on Kennedale Parkway. The suspect was driving in the same direction as the victim and drifted into the victim?s lane, striking her quarter panel. The victim stopped at the next light and informed the suspect of the accident. The suspect replied to the victim and left the scene without getting out.
5/16 – Burglary of Building – Kennedale New Hope Road: At 3:59 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown entered his backyard workshop and removed numerous tools. The shop was not locked at the time of the offense.
5/17 – Theft $750 to $2,500 – Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 8:42 a.m. a victim reported that her ex-boyfriend had taken her 2006 Mercury without permission. The ex-boyfriend has been staying with the victim off and on after being released from prison.
5/18 – Evading Arrest or Detention – 5400 block of High Ridge Road: At 1:54 a.m. an officer observed a male on the parking lot of a closed business. The male fled from the officer as he pulled in to check why the male was at a closed business. The suspect was captured by officers a short distance away. He was placed under arrest for fleeing and was transported to jail for booking.
5/18 – Criminal Trespass – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:44 a.m. an officer observed two suspects, a male and female, enter an open business. The officer had issued both suspects a criminal trespass warning and knew them to be in violation of the warning. Both suspects were arrested after the business manager indicated that they wanted charges filed. They were transported to jail for booking.
5/18 – Assault (Family Violence) (Impede Breath/ Circulation) – At 9:55 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance/assault. The offense had actually occurred several hours earlier. The female victim stated that her boyfriend had gotten angry at her and had struck her in the face with a closed fist. The suspect also placed both hands around the victim?s throat and choked her. The victim exhibited injuries consistent with her story. The victim stated that after assaulting her, the suspect left the residence on foot. The victim stated that she waited to contact police due to being threatened on social media by a family member of the suspect?s and by another girlfriend of the suspect.
5/19 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 12:20 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim, who had been drinking earlier, had gotten into an argument with her father. The father grabbed the victim and forced her to the ground, injuring her face. Medics were summoned to treat the victim. The suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived. He refused to return while speaking by phone with officers.
5/19 – Theft $100 to $750 – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:47 a.m. a victim reported that she had cash taken from her backpack. The victim stated that she left the backpack unsecured at a public location (business) while she went on a motorcycle ride.
