The Kennedale Wildcat basketball team is on track to finish in a tie of the school?s second best regular season record at 30-2. The best was in 2013-14 when the Cats went undefeated in regular season at 33-0 and ended with an overall season record of 38-1 and a final four finish. The next best record was the 2012-13 team that finished at 30-2 and a final overall record of 33-3.?
Currently the Wildcats are 24-2 with 6 games left in district play. This week they defeated Castleberry 77-34. Friday they face off against Western Hills (18-8, 4-1). Western Hills? lone loss in district was against Dunbar last week 83-59.

In the most recent Texas Association Basketball Coaches (TABC) the Wildcats are in the #6 spot in Class 4A. Dallas Wilmer-Hutchins 19-3 holds on to the top spot in Class 4A followed by #2 Dallas Oak Cliff Faith Family (20-6), #3 Silsbee (15-7), #4 Houston Yates (12-3) and #5 Decatur (23-3). Rounding out the top 10 behind #6 Kennedale is #7 Dunbar (13-13), #8 Argyle (18-7), #9 Dallas Lincoln (13-10) and #10 Dallas Carter (15-6).?
Rankings by Hoopinsider.net agrees with TABC except in the placement of Dunbar, placing the Fort Worth team at #10 and moving everyone else up behind Kennedale still at #6.

Lady Kats moved to 7-0 in district play winning against Castleberry 49-18 on Tuesday night. This gives the Kats (15-13, 7-0) sole possession of the #1 spot. Just behind the Lady Kats is Benbrook (13-14, 7-1). In 3rd place is Dunbar at 11-15, 4-2) followed by Lake Worth (12-15, 4-4), Castleberry (9-13, 2-5), Western Hills 1-19, 2-5) and Diamond Hill-Jarvis (0-16, 0-6).

In their last meeting, Kennedale defeated Benbrook 80-48. The two don’t meet again until the end of the season, February 1. This Friday plays Western Hills for the second time. First time the Lady Kats defeated Hills 75-15.?The Lady Kats will play Western Hills at 6:30 pm Friday and the Wildcats will follow at? 8:00 p.m. Games will be played at home at Kennedale High School.?
