The Kennedale
Public Library is offering multiple activities for kids this summer and some for adults too. {{more:[find out more]}}
Most of the activities are funded through grants from the Texas Book Festival ($2064) and Dollar General ($2000).
On a weekly basis the activities include …
Tuesday
- Tumbling Tots Storytime: 10:30 ? 11:30 am ? ages 0-5
- Crochet Club: Beginners welcome! (ages 18+ & you may be carded) 6-7:30pm
Thursday
- Olympic Trials: 10:30-11:30 am ? fun obstacle courses each week elementary age 6-12
- Lego club: 2-3:00 pm ? Create LEGO masterpieces and learn how to work as a team. Geared to ages 5-10 but older children welcome too.
Friday
- Splash and Read (Sonora Park Splash Pad) ? Bring the family for special Summer storytimes and splash pad play at Sonora Park, 10 ? 11:30 am
Saturday
- Family Movie Matinee: 3-5:00 pm – free popcorn and family movies at the Library as part of our Summer Reading Program

Wednesday, June 29
- Ronald McDonald visits from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for a fun educational program for the young ones.
Saturday, July 9
- Rhythm Path Drumming, explore the world of West African drums with Rhythm Path! Learn how to drum out tunes in no time flat. 2-3:00 pm
On-going …
- Summer Book Club ? reading program with prizes for the family. The program runs from Saturday, June 4th through Saturday, July 23rd. Once you’ve reached the goal for your age group, stop by the Kennedale Library to choose our prize! Register on line at mysrc.org or stop by the Kennedale Library.
- Kennedale Library with books and audio tapes for all ages along with computer and wifi access plus all the resources of the the Mansfield and Arlington Libraries at your fingertips – all to keep you busy all summer.

Regular hours are Tuesday-Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday & Saturday 10a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Sunday and Monday.
