The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 19 incidents for the one week period September 22, 2019, through September 28, 2019. The reports included burglary of vehicle, drugs/narcotics, DWI, reckless bodily injury, missing person, assault, and death investigation. {{more: continue …}}

  • 9/29 ? Driving While Intoxicated?E. Kennedale Parkway … At 12:26 a.m. an officer responded to a call about a possible DWI driver. The vehicle was located and stopped on East Kennedale Parkway. The driver, an adult male, was interviewed and admitted to drinking beer earlier in the evening. The driver was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested for DWI and transported to jail for booking. A warrant was obtained for a blood draw. The sample was taken by medical staff at the jail.?
  • 9/29 ? Drugs/Narcotics??E. Kennedale Parkway … At 9:17 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The adult female driver and her adult male passenger appeared extremely nervous and hesitant to speak with the officer. The female had an arrest warrant out of Mansfield and was detained for the warrant. The officer discovered a Doritos bag in the driver?s seat that contained a small bag of methamphetamine. During a subsequent conversation with both subjects, it was determined that a second bag of methamphetamine was in the vehicle inside a compartment. The bag was located and secured. Both subjects were arrested for drug possession and transported to jail for booking.?
  • 9/30 ? Assault by Contact?Wildcat Way …?On this date, a student filed an assault complaint against another student. The offense occurred on 09/24/2019 but the student did not report the offense due to concerns of retaliation. The school resource officer filed the report for further follow-up.?
  • 10/01 ? Drugs/Narcotics??E. IH 20 …?At 12:34 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The driver had multiple arrest warrants out of Fort Worth. While interviewing the driver the officer determined that he was in possession of crack cocaine. The driver was placed under arrest for transport to jail. The two passengers in the vehicle were released at the scene and left. The driver was booked into jail without incident.?
  • 10/01 ? Drugs/Narcotics?Lindale Road …?At 2:19 a.m. an officer stopped a male on a bicycle for riding at night without proper lighting equipment. The male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe to smoke it. He was arrested for the narcotics. His personal property and bicycle were released to a relative who lived nearby. He was booked into jail without incident.?
  • 10/02 ? Missing Person (Adult)?Municipal Drive …?On this date, an officer received a report of a missing adult male. The missing person is a foster child to the reporting person and has not been seen since 7:30 a.m. the previous morning.?
  • 10/02 ? Death Investigation?W. Kennedale Parkway …?At 6:26 p.m. officers responded to a welfare check. After arriving at the scene, a neighbor stated that he had not observed the resident outside since at least 09/30/2019. The neighbor reported that the resident was recuperating from injuries suffered in a fall several months earlier and was believed to have other health issues. The officers were able to get the front door open, where a deceased female was found on the floor. The female appeared to have been deceased for several days. The medical examiner and detectives responded to the scene. After the scene was processed, the medical examiner?s office took possession of the deceased person.?
  • 10/03 ? Incident (Other)?Wildcat Way …?At 8:23 p.m. officers responded to a Crime Stoppers complaint of a high school student threatening to commit a school shooting. The student?s residence was located and officers arrived for an interview. After interviewing the juvenile and both parents officers were not able to confirm that the threat had been actually been made. They were able to confirm that there were no firearms to access at the student?s residence. The officers determined that the threat was not credible based on the facts given to Crime Stoppers and the interviews with the family.?
  • 10/04 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Magnolia Drive …?At 3:43 a.m. officers responded to a possible car fire. On arrival the fire had already been extinguished. The resident reported that the vehicle had been burglarized before the fire occurred. The fire department reported that the fire did not appear suspicious. Nothing was reported to be missing from the vehicle, which was left unlocked overnight. A nearby residence had a vehicle that was also entered but nothing was missing. The resident did not make a report.?
  • 10/04 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Timberline Drive …?At 7:09 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a vehicle burglary. A resident reported that his unlocked Chevrolet truck was entered overnight. Suspect(s) removed cash and sunglasses form the vehicle.?
  • 10/04 ? Burglary of Vehicle?W. Mistletoe Drive …?At 7:51 a.m. an officer received a report of a vehicle burglary. A resident reported that unknown suspect(s) entered his Chevrolet SUV. No forced entry was observed. Suspect(s) removed a handgun and a radio.?
  • 10/04 ? Theft $750 to $2,500?Sublett Road …?At 1:13 p.m. an officer received a report of two stolen graveside flower urns.?
  • 10/04 ??Burglary of Vehicle?Woodlea Lane …?At 8:04 a.m. an officer received a report of a vehicle burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered a GMC truck and removed a stereo faceplate.?
  • 10/04 ? Injury to Child/Elderly/Disable Reckless Bodily Injury?Peachtree Court …At 7:16 p.m. an officer received a report of possible child abuse of a 3-year-old. The child?s parents gave statements along with a possible suspect name. The case is under further investigation.?
  • 10/04 ? Application for Mental Detention and Observation North?Road …?At 9:41 p.m. officers were dispatched to a suicidal person. An adult male was located and was reported to have threatened to harm himself during an argument with a family member. After interviewing the male, officers felt he was a danger to himself and transported him to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.?
  • 10/05 ? Driving While Intoxicated?N. Dick Price Road …?At 8:43 p.m. officers responded to a report of a major accident. Officers found a vehicle in the ditch that had struck a fire hydrant. The on-call water crew was contacted to repair the hydrant. Officers located the adult male driver at the scene. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and smelled of an alcoholic beverage. After having the driver assessed and cleared by paramedics, the driver was asked to perform a field sobriety assessment. He was unable to successfully complete it. The driver was arrested for DWI and transported to jail for booking.?
  • 10/04 ? Burglary of Vehicle?W. Broadway Street …?At 7:10 a.m. an officer received a report of a vehicle burglary. A victim reported that her unlocked vehicle was burglarized overnight. Unknown suspects removed several pairs of sunglasses.?
  • 10/05 ? Theft Under $100?W. Kennedale Parkway …?At 11:15 a.m. a victim reported that her wallet was missing from her residence. The wallet contained numerous credit cards and identification cards. The victim believes that the wallet was stolen by a known suspect.?
  • 10/04 ? Burglary of Vehicle?North Road …?At 3:57 p.m. an officer was flagged down to receive a report of a vehicle burglary. A male victim reported that his locked vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. Nothing appeared to be missing but a cell phone was apparently left by a suspect as it did not belong to the vehicle owner or his girlfriend. At 5:49 p.m. the victim contacted police to advise that a known male suspect who lived nearby had approached him (the victim) and admitted to breaking into the vehicle. The victim filled out a statement as to the information he received.
