Kennedale Police Reports: 11/24/19 ? 12/07/19

The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 16 incidents for the two week period November 24, 2019, through December 7, 2019.

11/25 ? Hit and Run Accident?Peachtree Court -?At 6:42 a.m. a victim reported that her white Ford Taurus was damaged while parked. An unknown vehicle backed into the Ford?s front end. The suspect driver left without leaving information or calling the police.

11/26 ? Drugs/Narcotics??W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 12:54 a.m. an officer stopped a pedestrian for an unsafe street crossing. The male was coming from under a highway bridge known as an area for homeless persons to be encamped. During the interview, the male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke it. He was arrested for the narcotic and transported to jail for booking.

11/28 ? Incident?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 7:19 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance with multiple people screaming. On arrival, it was determined that there was a disagreement between two females over one of the females attempting to leave the residence with her baby. The two started arguing while the mother was holding the baby. During the argument, the baby sustained a small injury that was treated by paramedics. A witness stated that the injury to the baby was the result of an accident and that no injury was intended. The mother and child were transported to another location to allow them to get out of the residence.

11/30 ? Criminal Mischief Under $100?E. Kennedale Parkway -?At 11:12 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered the property, a self-storage facility. The suspect(s) damaged a latch on a rented storage space. The damage was estimated at $50.00.

12/01 ? Public Intoxication/Alcohol?S. Dick Price Road -?At 3:11 a.m. officers responded to a hit and run accident. A homeowner reported that he heard noises outside of his home and looked to find a vehicle that appeared to have struck his mailbox. There was no one around the vehicle at the time. The officers identified the possible driver/suspect from a wallet left in the vehicle. Contact was made with an emergency contact, who reported that she had heard nothing from the driver/suspect. A tow truck was dispatched to impound the vehicle pending further investigation. During this time a vehicle pulled up to the scene. A male exited the vehicle to approach the tow truck. The male appeared to be intoxicated but stated that he was not the driver of the vehicle. Further questioning of the male revealed that he was the suspect and had left the scene after striking the mailbox. The suspect admitted to drinking at a bar earlier in the evening. He was cited for public intoxication and released to a third party who responded to the scene.

12/01 ? Assault by Contact (Family) -?At 1:41 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and female were in the process of separating. The male had come to the residence to collect some of his property when an argument occurred. The male pushed the female during the argument and then attempted to prevent her from calling 9-1-1. A second female was present at the scene as a witness. The male was placed under arrest for the assault and interfering with the 9-1-1 call. The female/victim requested a protective order.

12/02 ? Incident (Other)?Hillside Drive -?At 4:48 p.m. a female victim reported that she received two pieces of mail addressed to an unknown male and female. The mail had her address and the names used her last name but different first names. The mail contained prepaid credit cards in the names of the two addressees. The victim had no idea who the people were and did not authorize any prepaid cards. She reported the possible identity theft to her bank.

12/02 ? Possession of Drug Paraphernalia?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 10:19 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle for driving without headlights. An odor of marijuana emitted from the vehicle?s interior. Officers located marijuana residue and paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver was cited and released.

12/04 ? Attempted Burglary?Mountain View Lane -?At 9:45 a.m. an officer responded to a burglar alarm at a residence. While checking the residence a glove was found in the back yard. The homeowner stated it was not hers. The glove was collected for evidentiary purposes. Entry was not made into the residence.

12/04 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000?Kennedale Sublett Road -?On 12/03/2019 a resident made a report to police that he had paid a roofer for repairs to his home. The repairs were not made and the roofer would not return the homeowner?s calls. The resident reported that he knew a criminal case was filed by another police department on the roofer for the same type of complaint. A detective investigated and found that a case was, in fact, pending at the district attorney?s office. After consulting with the prosecutor on 12/04/2019, it was decided that the detective would present the Kennedale case to be included with the pending case.

12/04 ? Assault by Contact (Family Violence) -?At 6:35 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim reported that her suspect husband, who was not on the scene, had come into the home screaming and yelling at her. During the incident, the suspect struck the victim in the face with a roll of paper towels. The suspect left the residence before officers arrived. The victim did have a slight injury consistent with her complaint.

12/05 ? Credit/Debit Card Abuse?South Dick Price Road -?At 3:57 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) used her identity to purchase items fraudulently over the internet.

12/05 ? Criminal Trespass?E. Kennedale Parkway -?At 5:40 p.m. officers responded to a complaint of criminal trespass. A complainant reported that a known suspect had entered the property illegally after being warned earlier in the day. The suspect female had been evicted from the property along with others during the day shift. The trespass warning was issued at the time. The female was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.

12/06 ? Criminal Mischief $100 to $750?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 3:15 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. The city code compliance officer was attempting to remove an inoperable vehicle from a property when the property owner confronted the officer and the towing company driver. The vehicle was eventually moved from the location.

12/06 ? Hit and Run Accident?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 1:45 p.m. a victim reported a hit and run accident. The victim stated that she was struck from behind by another vehicle while driving on Kennedale Parkway. The other vehicle left the scene but the victim was able to get the license plate number. The suspect vehicle was registered to a local business. Officers went to the business and contacted a representative, who was cooperative. The vehicle and driver were located on site. The driver stated that the victim’s vehicle had changed lanes, striking his vehicle with her bumper. The case is still under investigation.

12/07 ? Death Investigation?S. New Hope Road -?At 4:25 a.m. officers responded to an assist call with the fire department. An 89-year-old male was non-responsive and CPR was in progress. After several minutes it was determined that the male was deceased and could not be revived. The wife of the victim reported that he had several health issues and was under a doctor?s care. The medical examiner?s office was contacted and authorized the release of the victim to a funeral home.
