Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the Kennedale Wildcats ?outscored Castleberry 13-11 in seven innings.The teams combined for 24 hits, including five extra base hits.?Zac Michener went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Wildcats. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the second and fifth innings. {{more}}?Josh Taylor got the win in relief for the Cats. Josh Taylor pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed four runs.?The big inning came in the first with 6 runs by the Lions. Kennedale countered with five runs off of a single by Jake Michener, a sacrifice by Zac Michener, a double Brett Taylor, a walk by Jay Thomas followed by singles by Austin Hunt and Chayce Coltharp.?The second slowed down as pitchers on both sides gained control. In the third the Wildcats came alive again to put Kennedale ahead for good at 10-6 with a 5 run inning. ?Runs were made off of singles by Hunt, Coltharp and Jake Michener and the triple by Zac Michener.??Castleberry chipped away at the lead in the 4th with two runs but Kennedale countered with one run off of singles by Hunt, Thomas and a sacrifice by Coltharp.?In the 5th Castleberry came with in one of the Cats when they scored 2 runs but Kennedale added insurance with a run in the bottom of the inning off of singles by Zac Michener and Josh Taylor.?In the 6th Castleberry tried on last time to close the gap but could only manage one run and were shut down by a double play by the Wildcat defenders. Kennedale added one run in the 6th after a walk, a hit batter and error on the part of the Lions.??The game ended in the top of the 7th with a 3 up and 3 down inning by Austin Eggleston.?
