Kennedale bats come alive Tie the series with 8-5 win over Snyder

Kennedale hopes of making it to Austin this week stayed alive after an 8-5 win over Snyder in the early game of a best of three this afternoon at Kennedale High School. {{more}}

Snyder had taken the series lead yesterday in Snyder by shutting down Kennedale?s offensive power and winning 4-1. Bats came alive for both teams in the second game with a combined 18 hits and 13 runs.

Kennedale?s Allie Turner came in after the first inning and got the win with seven-strikeouts, allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks over the next six innings.

Jazlyn Crowder got her second homerun in as many days, going 2 for 3 adding a double and 3 RBIs. Along with Crowder, Elizabeth Schiele (2 RBIs) and Mary Grace Howard had doubles and Allie Turner added a triple. Alexa Neifert went 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI.

Game Summary:

1st – Snyder got off to an early lead with a 3 runs in the top of the inning off of four singles and a triple. Kennedale matched that and up it one in the bottom half with a Turner triple, Niefert single, Howard walk, Crowder double, Schiele walk and a Alyssa Bradberry sacrifice Rebekah Abair also singled in the inning. Kennedale 4-3.

2nd – Snyder was sat down in order but Kennedale added 2 runs with a Neifert single and Crowder?s homerun. Kennedale 6-4

3rd – Neither team added runs in the 3rd with each leaving one runner on base (both were on walks). Kennedale 6-4

4th – Turner sat Snyder in order while the LadyKats drove in two more runs with 2 outs on a Howard double, Crowder walk (intentional) and a Schiele double. Bradberry also singled in the inning. Kennedale 8-4.

5th – Snyder got onerun as Turner faced a three on and no out situation. Turner recovered with two fly outs and a strikeout. Kennedale went in order. Kennedale 8-5

6th ? Snyder got a single run with a homerun. Kennedale had a one out based loaded situation but was unable to generate a score. Kennedale 8-5

7th ? Snyder went in order with Turner getting a ground out, strikeout and a fly out.
