Kennedale captures 3rd at Kennedale Soccer Invitational

Diamond Hill went through the ten team tournament undefeated, earning a place in the championship game Saturday, where the Eagles defeated Ferris to take the title. In their run to title Diamond Hill defeated Mabank, Argyle, WF Hirschi and Mineral Wells to get to the title game.

In action on Thursday, Kennedale recorded shutouts against Graham 7-0 and then BurKburnett 6-0. On Friday, Kennedale lost to Ferris 2-1 and then early Saturday, the Wildcats battled to a 2-2 tie with Life Waxahachie. This earned them the right to play for third place Saturday afternoon as one of the top four teams in the 10 team tournament.

Kennedale defeated Maybank 3-0 to take third place.? Last week the Wildcats took home the 2nd place trophy in the the Paris Classic.

It is worth noting that Kennedale defensive line recorded three shutouts in this tournament 7-0, 6-0 and 3-0 out of 5 games played.

The Wildcats will play again Tuesday, January 23 at Granbury High School at 7 pm. Then the Wildcat will play in their third and final tournament of the predistrict schedule when they host the Kennedale Round Robin beginning Thursday, January 25 ending Saturday, January 27 which includes 6 teams from the area.

District play begins February 13 after a final predistrict game against Abilene Wylie on January 30 at home.
