Kennedale’s Rocking H Ranch announces drop-off for annual toy drive

Many hundreds of Kennedale residents have memories of a chilly evening spent around a firepit at the Rocking H Ranch sipping hot cider and talking with friends and neighbors at the annual community toy drive each December. {{more}}
 
This will be the first year in 17 years that the Rocking H will be unable to host their annual community toy drive event on location but the toy drive is still happening with a toy drop-off scheduled along with other places to give a toy.
 
..collected over 1200 toys and more than $2400…
 
Lorna Hoover of the Rocking H Ranch said in an email sent out early this past week, that last year with the ?blizzard of 2013? the attendance was down but that the ?2012 toy drive was fabulous!?
 
?Over 800 folks came out, we collected over 1200 toys, and more than $2400 for additional toys and necessities (clothing, shoes, underwear, etc.).”
 
This year Perry and Lorna Hoover and the Rocking H Ranch are asking for your help to provide kids with a Christmas. In the past items collected by Rocking H have been given to the Kennedale Fire Department Angel Tree Christmas program. A drop off has been scheduled at the Ranch for two days next week for unwrapped toys at:

from 2 ? 6 p.m.
 
Another opportunity for the community to donate toys and food items will be at the presentation of KISD James Arthur?s performance of Macy?s ?Yes, Virginia the Musical?.

Admission is an unwrapped toy per person that will be donated to the Rocking H Ranch Christmas Toy Drive. Also requested are cans of pasta (like canned ravioli, spaghetti, etc.) for the Rocking H backpack program.

The Rocking

H Ranch is a non-profit 501c3 organizations, that through its past fundraising activities at the Ranch, has provided food for a backpack program, helped special needs children through Paws for Reflection Ranch, kids/family?s with childhood cancer through Trent?s Retreat, abused kids and installing water wells through Tara Sawyer Foundation.Donations.

 
The Rocking H Ranch back pack program serves up to 160+ children all their weekend meals during the school year and during the summer it has provided over 70 boxes of food to help those same families at a weekly cost equivalent of approximately $1000.
 
The Rocking H Ranch does accept monetary contributions on a one time basis or a scheduled yearly, quarterly or monthly donation @rockingh.net.
