3 day event in TownCenter this weekend
Kennedale’s largest festival will kickoff this Friday for a 3 day run, promising something for just about everyone. Starting April 15 and running through the 17th. {{more:[read more]}}The Brickworks (Art in the Park) is a free event featuring artists, vendors, live music, food, bounce houses, children’s entertainment, a parade, pie-eating contest, historical walk, pony rides, petting zoo puppeteers and pet parade.
This event supports local scholarships and Autism Speaks.
Friday – Many different entertainment events are scheduled including the KHS Jazz Band (6:30pm), Wrongway Jackson (7:30pm) and local legend Lannie Flowers (9pm) all on Friday evening.
Saturday – Day long entertainment events with some top performers scheduled for the evening capped off by headliner Charla Corn performing 9pm with legendary The Pengwins at 7:30pm and Hunter and Savannah at 6pm.
During the day on Saturday multiple entertainment options are available starting with the KJHS/KHS Choirs (11:30am), James Arthur Intermediate Choir (12:30pm), Delaney/Patterson Elementary Choir (1:00pm), the Artistic Motion Dance Academy of Burleson (2:30pm), Fellowship Academy Choirs (3:00pm), special performance for scenes from ?Annie? by Arthur Elementary Show Choir (4pm) followed by the CATS: Creative Arts Theatre (5pm).
Sunday – Entertainment has Guitars for Heroes (12 noon), 1st Baptist Praise Band (2:30pm), special ?Scholarship?performances (3:30pm) and Life Fellowship Praise Band (4:30pm).

Parades …
History of Kennedale Parade: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16th (right after the Historic Walk) at James F. Delaney Elementary School and makes its way down Kennedale Parkway to the TownCenter area. All entries in the parade will be decorated or have a historic theme focused on what Kennedale was like from the early settlement to today.Click for Parade

Pet Parade: 1:00pm Sunday Pets of all shapes and sizes will show off their best looks at the Brickworks Pet Parade. Awards will be given for Best Dressed, Best Look-Alike (Pet/Owner) and Best Trick. Sorry, no livestock.

Historical Walk through Old Town …
Saturday, April 16th with a start time of 8:30 a.m. A leisurely 1.5-mile walk, sponsored by the Kennedale Historical Society, will feature dramatic reenactments at key points of interest in Old Town Kennedale. Check-in begins 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. in the parking lot between City Hall (405 Municipal) and the Senior Center (420 Corry A. Edwards). Austism Speaks will have short presentation followed by the walk. A registration fee is required, the fee will include a special t-shirt Cost is $2.00 with the money going to Autism Speaks.
