LADY KATS
The LadyKats scored early and often in their non-district contest with a show of offense power.
Abby Key scored three times in the first 3 and half minutes of the game with the first at just 14 seconds, the second at 2 minutes and the third at 3:20. And, just like that it was 3-0 in Kennedale?s favor.
Gainesville did get on the board with a shot a little over a minute later when a Leopard kick when off the hands of Kennedale?s goalie into the net.
Kennedale score twice more before half with scores by Allie Thornton and Abby Olmos and took a 5-1 lead into half.
Kennedale scored one more time in the second while shutting down Gainesville with a kick by Alondra Olmos with less than a minute left in the game.
With the win the Kennedale LadyKats go to 12-2-2 and 2-0 in district play after icing their first two district opponents, Diamond Hill-Jarvis and Venus last week and are securely in first place.
LadyKats defeated Diamond Hill on February 10 by a score of 8-0 off of kicks by eight players. Scoring for Kennedale was Abby Key, Allie Thornton, Cara Hunt, Abby Olmos, Esmerelda Garcia, Baylee Gow, Lauren Otts and Jolene Martinez.

WILDCATS
Tuesday night it was a close one for the Cats winning by 1 over Gainesville (8-7-1).
Kennedale (9-6-2, 1-1) playing defense most the whole game scored the winning and only score of the game at the 54 minute mark on a controversial play, at least from the Leopards’ point of view.
It happened when Gainesville became confused when they thought the ball had gone out when it fell in front of the Gainesville net. Andrew McLaughlin for Kennedale didn?t hesitate and tapped it in for the winning score.
Game officials ruled the score good.
Last week Kennedale split games, losing in district matches against Diamond Hill, 2-1 and beating Keene Smith, 6-0.
Taking on the district leader, Diamond Hill (8-7-1, 3-0) the Cats scored first on a kick by Guillermo Aceituno at the 13 minute mark and held that lead throughout the first half. Diamond Hill scored 3 minutes into the second half to tie the score and then midway into the half to take the lead for good at 2-1.
Kennedale followed that, with the big win over Keene. In that game, Kennedale scored 5 minutes into the game on a ball by Aceituno. That scored turned out to be the game winner because Keene never scored. Kennedale went on to score 5 more times. Aceituno who scored twice in the game was joined by Gustavo Ramirez, Jared Birr and David Ream.
Tonight the Cats take on Alvarado (6-9-3, 1-1-1) at home beginning at 6 p.m.
