Knocking on the door, Lady Kats earn a special invite

There are 128 Class 4A teams that made the big party (Round 1 or Bi-district) which kicked off the road to the UIL state championship final four and the eventual state champion. {{more: continue …}}

The first round of 64 games included teams that were a mix of new and old faces. There were many more than a few that were just glad to be there.

The next level, Round 2 (Area), involved 32 games between 64 of the survivors. At this point there were a lot of familiar names.

Round 3 (Region Quarterfinal) involved 16 games and 32 of the top ?players? in the field. An occasional intruder has made it this far but they are few.

?

Next is the opportunity to knock on the door for the house party which is Round 4 (Region semifinals). This is a gathering of just 16 teams playing in 8 games. This is usually reserved for the ?A? listers or those in the top 20 and maybe one or two outside of that list but with growing reputations.

This group includes according to MaxPreps #1 Argyle, #3 Krum, #4 Fulshear, #7 Hereford, #9 Farmersville, #10 Celina, #11 Caldwell, #12 Carthage, #13 Canyon, #16 Navarro, #17 Kennedale, #19 Midlothian Heritage, #20 Bullard, #24 Hargrave, and #33 Slendora.
