? ? ?The Kennedale Lady Kats dunked their district opener last Friday. ?The Lady Kats, currently ranked #10 in 3A, hosted the Springtown Lady Porcupines in the district 8-3A opener for both team and came away with an 86-16 win. The Lady Kats (17-6) led Springtown (7-9) from the opening period. Four Kennedale players were in double figures ? Travanti Downes and Autumn Williams had 17 points each, McKinley Bostad with 15 and Briana Ellis had 10. Next up will be the Diamond Hill Lady Eagles Tuesday at home. Varsity is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. The competition in the district will come from the Mineral Wells Lady Rams who are currently 9-3 but will not be on the schedule until January 18.

? ? ?The Lady Kats completed a tough pre-district scheduled over the holidays. {{more}}One of the toughest was the Sandra Meadows Classic where Kats were pitted against the best in 4A and 5A in the 32 team field. They finished the tournament in 6th place by beating 5A Trinity, 5A Houston Woodlands ranked 21 in state, losing to #1 5A undefeated Duncanville, beating #2 4A Vista Ridge and losing to #4 5A Clear Springs.
