The Lady Mustangs finished in third place in District 5-4A at 4-4 behind Brownwood (24-8, 8-0) and Wylie (22-9, 6-2). All three teams won on Tuesday night advancing to play in the area round.
Game story: It was a close game until late in the 3rd
quarter. At the end of Q1, Graham was up
by 2. At halftime, Sweetwater led by 1.
But, the third quarter changed everything in this see-saw game. With just 32
second left in the 3rd and Graham leading 32-31, their top threat
fouled out. After that, it was Sweetwater
that got hot and took over the game. Between the last 32 seconds and the first
part of Q4, Sweetwater went on a 17-3 run and never looked back winning 51-38.
#12 Baylie Lindsay is their primary scoring threat. She led all players with 21 points in the Graham game.a team of underclassmen …
Sweetwater is a vastly improved team this year after winning just three games in the last two seasons. This year?s team is composed mostly of sophomores with a freshman and two seniors listed on the roster.
Kennedale and Sweetwater have not met this season.
The Kats will play Sweetwater HS at Eastland HS on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in an area round game.

Coupled that with a running a press and the athleticism of the their players and you have their winning formula.
