The Kennedale LadyKats left for the UIL State Final Four Soccer playoffs today with a huge send off thanks to students and staff across the district. Since it was impossible to have everyone come to see them leave, the LadyKats along with the KHS Cheer Team and the KHS Jazz Band visit each campus today for just a few minutes to be greeted by cheers and well wishes. {{more}}

On Wednesday the LadyKats will meet the Boerne Lady Greyhounds in a semifinal match in Georgetown at 11 a.m.. The Boerne team was ranked #5 in the last MaxPreps statewide poll. The Greyhounds are 23-2 overall with a district record of 12-0. Boerne reached the state playoffs by defeating Salado 4-2 on Saturday. With a record of 20-2, Salado was the #6 team according to MaxPreps.
Kennedale (22-2-2) reached the final four by defeating the #1 Melissa (25-1-2) and #4 Abilene Wylie (19-4) this past weekend.
In the other semifinal, the #2 Jasper Bulldogs (26-0) will play #11 Princeton Panthers (20-3-2) beginning at 1:30 p.m. also Wednesday.
LadyKats Soccer Coach Michael Strange recognized the play of the team on Saturday in a email saying:
?The Kennedale girls are 4A REGION I CHAMPS, knocking off #4 Abilene Wylie (4-3) and previously UNDEAFEATED and STATE #1 Melissa 4-3 (2OT). Melissa had a senior that broke the national scoring title (88 goals in one year, avg 4 goals a game) and our girls held her to ZERO goals and one assist.
Allie Thornton had 2 goals (one from 37 yards out), Abby Olmos 1 goal, Alondra Olmos 1 goal (game winning OT goal)
Defense: Daphne Hunt, Cara Hunt, Kylie Deel, Taylor Bush, Lauren Otts, Claire Hamilton and GK Sara Vazquez worked together to keep the high-powered Melissa Team at bay.”information and directions
