Lady Kats Softball gets 13 strikeouts from Leeds in 9-0 win over Springtown

?An excellent effort by Kaitlyn Leeds led Kennedale to a 9-0 win in seven innings over Springtown on Tuesday at Kennedale. Leeds got the win for the Lady Kats thanks to 13 strikeouts.

Kennedale’s pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only one hit. Kennedale blew out Spring town thanks to 10 hits, including two extra base hits. {{more}}

The first two innings were scoreless but then the Lady Kats Varsity scored four runs in the third on an RBI single by Mackenzie Bay, an RBI single by Elizabeth Schiele, and a two-run double by Cheyenne Trotter.

Kennedale brought home two runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, the Lady Kats scored with a double by Leeds, line drive by Trotter and a single by Aubrey Wooden. The two runs in the fifth were scored by Trotter and Leeds with a hit batter, stolen base, error, a bunt, a pass ball and a ground out.

The final score in the sixth was by Bay after she hit a single and a sacrifice by Schiele.
