The girls Blue Division (small school) for the Kennedale Lady Kats (10-11) has 10 ranked teams including the top teams in Class 4A, 3A, the #2 in Class 2A along with the top two teams in Class 1A. The ranked teams include from 4A #1 Leveland, #5 Stephenville and #20 Seminole. Teams from Class 3A are #1 Wall, #6 Jim Ned, #13 Winnsboro and #15 Ponder. From Class 2A comes #2 Panhandle. Finally from Class 1A are #1 Nazareth and #2 Dodd City. Also, in the field is 6A TAPPS 6A Argyle Liberty Christian. See brackets and results at Whataburger Tournament Schedule
Meanwhile, the boy?s Blue Division (small school) features 11 state ranked teams. #6 Kennedale (18-1) is the highest ranked team in Class 4A in the tournament. This places the Wildcats as one of the favorites in the tournament. Other top ranked teams include from Class 3A, #1 Brock, #4 Bowie, #6 Grandview and from Class 1A, #2 Nazareth. Other ranked teams in the tournament included from Class 4A, #9 Liberty Hill, #12 Argyle, #13 Decatur #25 Seminole and from Class 3A #14 Wall and #19 Peaster.
Games started at 10 am on Thursday and will continue until Saturday. The girls small school division plays at Saginaw High School while the boys small school division plays at Chisholm Trail High School. The large school division (Class 6A and 5A) plays at Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City.

The Kennedale Lady Kats lost their opening game against Argyle Liberty Christian and now moves into the Consolation bracket. The Kats will play 3A Winnsboro at 8:30 am. Friday. Joining Kennedale in the bracket will be Ponder, Jacksboro, Bowie, Quilan Ford and Springtown.??
The Kennedale Wildcats defeated Nazareth 70-43 in the opening game of the tournament Thursday morning moving on to the championship bracket. The Cats will play Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. against Seminole. 4A Seminole defeated 3A Ponder 64-48 in their first game.
Also moving into the championship bracket were 3A Bowie, 4A Decatur and 3A Grandview. Late games scores were not available.
