Tuesday night the Kennedale Lady Kats (18-18, 6-1) earned an early second round tie for first in District 7-4A with 5 games remaining by beating Springtown 3-0. {{more:Read more …}}Kennedale who had lost to Springtown earlier this season was not about to let that go unchallenged. Kennedale has won or shared the district title the last two years and were picked to win again although playing in a different district this year.
Springtown fell to 20-7, 6-1 losing to the Kats 25-18, 25-22 and 25-11. Kennedale has reached the .500 mark for the first time this season after playing a brusing pre-district schedule.

Kennedale will return to action this Friday night playing FTW Benbrook at home with the varsity game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Kennedale High School.
