an easy decision to leave Clear Brook for Hilton, but with family in the area
and Kennedale?s established winning program, the decision came within days of the
offer.
According
to the Houston Chronicle, Hilton said of his time at Clear Brook, ?I hope I
developed some toughness in the kids. He added,?I felt like the girls played hard for me, and I appreciate
that. I hope they learned some life lessons along the way. Clear Brook has some
really good kids coming back, and whoever gets this job is going to be set up
pretty quick.??

Coach Hilton?s teams play up tempo and an aggressive brand of defense. ?We will really push the ball on offense and will be very aggressive in transition. We will really look to get the ball in the paint and make plays. On the defensive side of the ball we will press the majority of the time and play in the passing lanes in the half court. So far I am really excited with what I have seen out of the girls?I think we can win a bunch of games.?

The Kennedale Lady Kats are picked to win another district title this year. At 5-9, the Kats are coming off a bruising pre-district schedule. Last year, the Lady Kats were 7-12 around this time before they when on a 12-0 run in district play. The current Kats have one more game on Friday at home against non-conference Terrell before starting district play next Tuesday against Castleberry. For both games, the varsity will play at 8 p.m.?
?Hilton is assisted this year by Rhonda Jackson who coaches the JV team and Rex Uruh the freshmen coach.? Hilton is a special education teacher at Kennedale High School. Johnson is an English teacher teaching reading and college transition while Unruh is a science teacher who teaches classes in human anatomy and environmental science.?Coach Hilton?s family consist of his wife Christy, Addyson, a 3rd grader at Delaney Elementary School this year, and 2 year old Hayes.?
